The police are there not to crusade for the under-privileged, but to maintain the status quo, often this is in the best interest of persons currently in power. This social contract is an implied threat of violence for individuals threatening that inertia.

Homelessness is a symptom of a capitalist housing market. If housing is determined by the market, then by design there will be individuals who are priced out. That system has zero incentive to do anything different.

To my stupid brain, a vicarious revolution is just as “real” as any of the news stories I can’t personally witness. Its taken that primal human need to seem comfort, and given it to us by the gallon. Why revolt, or inconvenience yourself when there’s sweet media to consume.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Rockstar games, and bought GTA V when it launched in (checks watch) 2013. I just don’t necessarily trust that 12 years later they have retained everyone who can pull off a great game. Especially since Rockstar San Diego made RDR2 and GTA is Rockstar North.
