Identical twins where one of them is trans and the other one is cis should do this

Just noticed that X-Men, Masters of the Universe, and Labyrinth are all about a sad, lonely teen girl who gets unwillingly drawn into a hidden unearthly fantasy/scifi world of incredible peril and portent.

Carnival of Souls too if you squint and look at it sideways although that is... different

me: I became BLOODTHIRSTY for orange juice

doctor: Emily if it's a normal drink I think you can just say thirsty without the blood.

me: I became thirsty for orange juice - WITHOUT the BLOOD!

"What are your transition goals, Tamsin?"

"Oh, y'know, just the usual: black leather, eldritch armor, glowing sword, horns, killer tits, throne made of skulls."

Obviously I wanted this throne to give to Magik, the ruler of Limbo

Being a trans woman around liberals is constantly being told you are included and wanted with their mouths while their actions push you as far away as possible without actively kicking you out, so when you leave because it is clear you are not wanted, they can innocently ask “I wonder why she left?”

I'm thankful that by the grace of the Goddess I'm not in a position to have noticed or to be able to comment on that reading but I would love it to be the case!

I HATE Quentin Quire redemtionisn tho. I don't necessarily want the kid exterminated by Sentinels but I don't want to ever read about him

As I hear more and more people express "Magneto was right," I find myself wondering what Magneto was right about.

Like many sympathetic villains, Magneto is often written in a way that his cause is just but his use of violence is extreme and frequently inflicted on those less deserving of it. 🧵

Then other X-Men villains (Apocalypse, Mister Sinister) are metaphors for eugenics.

Or in the Krakoan Era, the villain was AI and everything that religiously AI true-boosters believe about AI, and how AI ties into and is inseparable from bigotry and oppression.

People love to say "Magneto was right" but that phrase was first written by a nonbinary drag magician who hates Magneto, and that's why it was put into the mouth of a villainous character who embodied spoiled violent alt-right incels almost ten years before the alt-right existed.

What I mean is Claremont literally and overtly and purposely based his characterization of Magneto on the founder of the far-right Likud party.

Magneto goes too far in that when he is at his most villainous and opposed to Xavier, it is because he is a far-right fascist nationalist.

BUT ALSO their villains include other victims of oppression who go too far.

Now a lot of people stop right there and think "ah but that's bigoted of the writers, because the victims of oppression don't really go too far" but no, because by "too far" I mean nationalism and metaphorical zionism.

The X-Men are metaphors for victims of oppression, and their villains are oppression and bigotry.

Jen this thread is really, really good

TLDR for now: the MCU sucks because of Batman, Batman sucks bc of capitalism, America’s COVID response was the inevitable result of capitalism, capitalism is fascism, nostalgia is fascism, fascism is your dad, and Dwayne McDuffie’s death was a systemic hate crime

alright I’m gonna go make coffee ✌️☕️

Every superhero is a metaphor that fights other metaphors of the same clade

The Flash is a physics, who fights other physics (mirrors, aerodynamics, cold). Superman is a god, who fights other gods. That’s so good, but Batman is a fear who fights other fears. That’s always the easiest match to sell.
