There are precious few certainties in life, yet I think we can *all* agree that were "The Matrix" made today, the role of Mouse would have been played by Pete Davidson.

Vincent Price as Dr. Phibes in a screengrab from "The Abominable Dr. Phibes," with a skeletal mask, silky white robe and pants, and white gloves. He is seating at an organ with red translucent panels, and is turned looking back at us. At the bottom is the text, "GOOD PHIBES ONLY" in Seattle Mariner teal.
Excited about Geno's return to the Mariners, but bringing in my love of Vincent Price.
I really must stop doing that.
I'm sorry for whatever it is I did.
Just minutes ago I was thinking that it's far past time for HD versions of "Thieves' Highway" and "Trouble in Paradise."
Brilliant!
I think my greatest video game triumphs were the very small number of times I was able to beat the swimming level. Never could get too much further in the game from there, naturally.
I hope at some point they'll put the intro video online because it was sweet and fun. And great screening! So wonderful to see it again on the big screen!
A slide on the screen of the David Geffen Theater at the Academy Museum for tonight's screening. There's a picture of Al Pacino and Russell Crowe talking in a car in a screengrab from the film. The slide reads: "BRANCH SELECTS "The Insider in 35mm "Selected by the Writers Branch "Intro video: "Writers: Eric Roth and Michael Mann "In person: "Director Michael Mann and "Dana Stevens, Governor, Writers Branch "Wednesday, July 16"
Amazing screening tonight at the mostly-full, 999-seat Geffen Theater at the Academy! My first time seeing my favorite director in person, and my first opportunity to see a favorite film on the big screen since I saw it in '99.
Cal Raleigh does it! Fantastic Derby performance!
It won't likely always be the same one, but that's the face of a man who has always and will always drive a t-top.
I wish private equity could buy climate change so it would stop

This 30-second Japanese commercial for car stereos featuring Warren Oates and the music of Ry Cooder is better than any film you’ve seen this year.
Grown men exposing themselves at a school. Just when you think ICE couldn't get any more horrible...
My partner just tested positive an hour ago. Mask up and stay healthy, everyone!
I always go back and forth between Schifrin and Goldsmith as the greatest film composer, but really, only Schifrin in all the history of cinema made percussion and brass work for the image better than *anyone* before or after him, and likely anyone in the foreseeable future.
Jeez, I didn't know the horse threw you. I'm sorry for being flippant. I hope you're OK!
I don't know, with all the has happened in the last 24 hours, kicking the hell out of an expensive car that can only really be purchased and maintained by the wealthy makes it seem like that beauty is an ally of the resistance. This horse gets it!
I can't find any protests tonight, and I don't know where to direct my fury that this absurd country decided to simply throw in the towel 366 days before the tricentennial for no other reason than to turn the billionaires into trillionaires just for funsies.
Hakeem Jeffries posts pic of him holding a baseball bat with the caption: "House Democrats will keep the pressure on Trump's One Big Ugly Bill 💪
No one’s taking this one on, gonna have to eat his contract and DFA him
if your milk hotel is neutral in times of injustice, your milk hotel has chosen the side of the oppressor.
A screengrab from "Office Space," with Jennifer Aniston on the left and Mike Judge on the right in their chain restaurant outfits, and the text, "we need to talk about your flair" at the bottom of the picture.
Haha! I would indeed like to keep on these rose-tinted glasses.
I watched this every chance I got when it would play on the Disney Channel. Couldn't get enough. Every now and then I want to revisit it, but I figure it's definitely best to leave it as a pleasant memory.
