Trump Has Detained the Parents of More Than 11,000 U.S. Citizen Kids A ProPublica analysis of new ICE data shows that Trump has detained parents of U.S. citizen children at about twice the rate that Biden did, and moms have been deported four times as often.

NEW: For the first time, ProPublica has been able to quantify how many U.S. citizen children have been directly affected by Trump’s immigration crackdown: more than 11,000 kids had a parent detained — and that’s an undercount. 1/ 🧵

The Haunting Story of Two People—and Their Bots—on Therapy’s New Frontier As millions confide in ChatGPT about their most intimate problems, these relationships are even stranger, more moving, and more insidious than we've imagined.

“What is the hole in our culture that therapy fills? And what really happens when we try to re-create that relationship with a machine?”

@alex-mar.bsky.social going to sub-Freudian depths with this story about two people and their bots

This is one of the best stories we've published in a long time. Come for the most thoughtful, in-depth exploration of AI as therapy you've ever read.

Stay because the writing and the storytelling are both sensational. @alex-mar.bsky.social did such tremendous work on this one.

Again, the Secretary of State has no authority to “revoke” green cards.

Looking at some survey data here. Trump/Elon cutting off all cancer cure research is the issue that freaks voters out more than any other, also the one they've heard the least about. Important for voters to hear more about this.

So…BUNNY, my brother’s first film (as creative producer & co-writer), is in competition @sxsw.com in March! It’s kind of a lo-fi “After Hours” meets “Good Time”?

Keep an eye on newcomer Mo Stark as the lead. He blew my mind. (And no one paid me to say that…)

If you are anxiously posting about how Elon is hijacking our country and you haven’t called your members of Congress, your Governor, and Dem leadership, to urge them to action, then you too are not acting.

On St. Brigid's Day the new life could be entered
By going through her girdle of straw rope
The proper way for men was right leg first
Then right arm and right shoulder, head, then left
Shoulder, arm and leg.
Women drew it down
Over the body and stepped out of it
The open they came into by these moves
Stood opener, hoops came off the world
They could feel the February air
Still soft above their heads and imagine
The limp rope fray and flare like wind-born gleanings
Or an unhindered goldfinch over ploughland.

Writing is thinking.

It’s not a part of the process that can be skipped; it’s the entire point.
