Canada doesn't have the cheapest food, but few places in the world have the quality and variety of fresh foods year round. Which also comes at a huge environmental cost.

Canadian experience with vehicle headlights and glare at night Transport Canada wants to learn how headlight glare affects road users and what vehicle or lighting features may influence how people experience it at night.

Give Transport Canada your opinions about car headlights...

I propose this... Every year there should be a draw of random names of 7% of all drivers. If your name is drawn you are required to do a road test. If you fail you are automatically registered for driver's ed. At the end of the course you must be retested. If you fail again you are on a learners.

Call Kenaston Lukes way. It has a collection of the most unsafe intersections in the city. Between R90 and Sterling Lyon, McGillivray, Taylor, Grant, and Corydon there is at least one collision per day.

I'm all for the CPT extension to be named Gillingham Way, until it is fully paid off in 30+ years. We could have a sign that displays the amount still owed along the route.

Wait, I've been told that active transportation is impossible in Winnipeg for 8 months of the year. Please pack up your bikes for another 4 months.

As someone who currently has a handful of FIPPA requests/rejections being investigated by the Manitoba Ombudsman. I would say the culture at city hall is to withhold information unless forced to share.

I wonder how many of those denied rides were missed medical appointments.

I just don't see the people who didn't pay because they simply didn't have money, suddenly being a multimillion dollar source of revenue for transit. #wpgpoli

Two months of transit fare enforcement by 27 full time employees recovered 359 fares. I guess I have trouble imagining meeting the goal of 3/4 fare recovery through enforcement. Overall it seems like the program is bleeding money. #Winnipeg #wpgpoly

If Mayor Gillingham has his way and we build the R90 and CPT expansions. It will literally bankrupt the city.
Messages like this will be the reality for Winnipeg for all sorts of city services/utilities...

Further, I find it frustrating that Lukes and others at the city are so quick to deflect responsibility to the province. Wab is correct, they can do it without the province, yes it will take far more signage, but it is still money well spent and we should not hesitate to get started.

I find it frustrating that the province/wab isn't willing to choose a safer speed for all cities. I know this type of decision takes political capital, but roadway safety seems to be the last place where it seems we just allow unsafe conditions to remain...

Pet Peeve when people call "vintage" things "retro". Something that is old is vintage, something new made in the style of something old is retro.

Of course it wasn't the full report. They did delay the release of the report so the department could make a map of all the new speeds. Curious that the map wasn't published. I just wonder what the report said before it went between the desks of the Mayor's inner circle.

I think he is so favourable he should remain the leader of the opposition.

How did Duncan not realize this proposed by-law was such a disaster?

And that doesn't include the written submissions.

Wow, outstanding display of citizens in opposition to the anti protest by-law. LookS like it will be a long day for the Executive Policy Committee. If it does pass, I hope the city gets a very expensive charter challenge. @scottgillingham.bsky.social

On the issue of so-called "nuisance" protests on the agenda at the next city hall EPC meeting. I've submitted a comment in opposition, and you should too! This is a massive overreach of power that undermines democracy. #wpgpoli #winnipeg @scottgillingham.bsky.social
