JJK was a story of Yuuji becoming a bodhisattva. Modulo is a story of Yuuji almost reaching enlightenment to become a buddha but choosing to remain a bodhisattva
we, as readers, are meant to understand that he has accepted this role and the suffering doesnt weigh on him the same way it does for us
the humans are meant to be selfish and have the consequences of that be their form of suffering. he is there is to be the guide through that. that is his weight he has chosen to bear. none of them could ever bear that themselves so that’s why Yuuji essentially chose to remain as a bodhisattva
the point of Yuuji’s connection with Buddhism and imagery as a bodhisattva is that his profound selflessness is of such magnitude, we as humans can only see it as suffering
the point of this allusion is Yuuji has accepted this suffering to help and guide others through their versions of suffering
“some people can’t see Modulo Yuuji’s ending as anything other than suffering bc they’re just selfish people who can’t imagine themselves in his shoes” is an interesting take bc that’s literally the point. we’re meant to see it as suffering as outsiders. we are not meant to fathom being in his shoes

the folks who show up to events and buy goods are consistently the adult women with income to spare and are, more often than not, fans of the ikemen and the main chara. that's all there is to it. Naoya's popularity for his face and meme-ability is what earned him that slot on in art and goods
I think what people fail to realise is that these official art releases are previews for goods that people are expected to buy....this isn't a "this chara hasn't gotten featured lately, let's put them in" type of situation. the chara who get featured at the ones expected to make money.
the fact of the matter is that Maki does not make money for koushiki the same way the boys do. she and Panda basically get relegated to filler slots for group chara goods all the time. their goods just sit there. no one wants them, no one trades them.
