If you know of a less...blunt tool to get the job done, let me know. It must be open-source though--I don't need or want anything that can't be vetted before I give it access to anything important.

I wouldn't WANT kids unless I know I can commit to being a parent, and all that entails: decades of blood, sweat, and tears; not to mention the financial burden of housing, childcare, food... It's not something I (would) take lightly.
