He’s the Reason ā€˜Hamnet’ Makes You Cry Your Eyes Out Composer Max Richter tells me about scoring the year’s most heartbreaking scene and how his Iraq War protest song became an indelible emotional anthem

There aren’t many films that I’ve actually broken down into a literal flood of tears over.

I’d heard that it’s happening a fair bit during Hamnet, and Max Richters score is certainly a huge part of it for me.

This is a nice insight into how he was involved closely

The only piece of direct marketing I’ve had from John Lewis (that I can remember), suggesting a new television.

Sent to the same email address I used to buy a (bargain) television only a few months ago…

An empty screening at Vue

An empty screening at Vue

Had an entire screen at Vue to myself last night. I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Watched @edgarwright.bsky.social’s Last Night in Soho. Late to the party on this but what a film!

Beautiful shots of London, amazing recreation of the 60s and a cracking story to go with it.

Central Hall at Westminster! I’ve never been but it’s right next to the QEII centre, opposite Westminster abbey. Lovely location!

The misprinted chocolate bar handed out at the Conservative party conference. "When Labour negotiates, Britian loses".

This would seem like a perfect time for me to become "Britian"

If I had any interest in:
- Being an influencer
- Becoming my own "brand"
- Starting my own political party
- Having a series of Christmas No 1's and associated merchandise involving chocolate bars

Watched No Time to Die last night, enjoyed it a lot more than out initial cinema outing.

Most enjoyable was the John Barry / Louie Armstrong throwbacks and the (can you call it) reverse parallel (?) to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service with the ending.

Need to look up M’s quote he took from a book

The wonderfully surreal ā€˜it couldn’t happen here’ followed by a Q&A with Neil Tennant who sat with us to watch the premiere of the ā€˜Battleship Potemkin’ remaster synced to the PSB score!
