What’s Inside Our Galaxy’s Darkest Place? Barnard 68 is often mistaken for a hole in space, but it’s actually a dense, opaque cloud of dust—for now

I got to write in Scientific American about one of my all-time favorite cosmic objects: Barnard 68! It's like a hole in space, except… it isn't.

Just For Laughs Comedy Festival to Return Post-Restructuring in 2025 After a 2024 event cancellation, the stand-up showcase for Hollywood talent scouts and execs in Montreal is planned to run July 16 to 27.

I'm glad to hear Just for Just For Laughs will still be around. I produced several shows for the festival from 1991 to 1996. It's always a fun time in Montreal!

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has peered into the chaos of the Cartwheel Galaxy, revealing new details about star formation and the galaxy’s central black hole. Webb’s powerful infrared gaze produced this detailed image of the Cartwheel and two smaller companion galaxies against a backdrop of many other galaxies. This image provides a new view of how the Cartwheel Galaxy has changed over billions of years.
