not gonna lie, it would be funny in a fantasy scenario if a very paranoid person put up literally every thing to ward off mythical creatures on their door. Like, their door is absolutely cluttered with silver on the door knob, an iron horseshoe nailed into the door, a Japanese charm plastered, etc.

Metal does not BURN, it MELTS. And at a VERY high temperature too. Fireproofing it is practically USELESS. However, WOOD catches fire easily, but it a POOR conductor of heat, so if it cannot catch fire, then THEORETICALLY, the OUTSIDE was be very hot, but the INSIDE stays cool.

I know some people will say I’m crazy, but I already know I kind of am. I also know some people will say ”why not fireproof the iron armour?” and I have say that fireproof spells stop things from catching on fire, but it does NOT stop things from getting very hot. It’s FIREPROOFING not COOLING.

Why do knights wear iron armor and tools to fight dragons? Dragons are fire-breathing creatures, and iron gets hot VERY fast. They’d practically burn to death from their armour getting red-hot from a dragon exhaling. Instead, I’d suggest they wear sturdy wood armour with a fireproof enchantment.
