Fresh batch of fixes & cleanups in translate-toolkit 3.19.0!
Most notably, tmserver has been removed from the codebase. If anyone still relies on it, maintaining it as a separate package would be the way forward.
After more than 5 years, python-gammu 3.2.5 is out. A collection of fixes accumulated over the years—and the project is still looking for a maintainer to give it more love. pypi.org/project/pyt...
Cleaning up translate-toolkit means saying goodbye to some long-neglected code. One of the bigger pieces going away is tmserver—let's stop pretending someone maintains it 🙂.
Let’s start the new week with a release!
translation-finder 2.24 is out, with detection for many new formats.
🚀 Several releases today, with Weblate being the most important one.
Weblate 5.15.2 brings a security fix and addresses several issues that slipped into 5.15.

🎉 New year, new release!
translate-toolkit 3.18.0 brings format improvements (PO, XLIFF, TXT, RC, Properties, HTML), removes Directory & ZIPFile storages, and drops Python 3.10 support.
A teď jsem zjistil, že ji musím použít, abych mohl legálně zapálit prskavky u kterých jsem si právě všiml kategorie F2 🤦♂️. www.tarra.cz/prskavky-90-...
😅 Today’s goal was “just a small bug & security release”…
A surprise bug, a broken dependency, and a PyPI storage limit later—Weblate 5.15.1 is finally out!
🚀 Release day!
While the Weblate release is on the way, Python Social Auth (social-auth-core 4.8.2) is already out with compatibility fixes and cleanup of backends for services that no longer exist.
New formats just landed in @weblate.org!
XLIFF 2.0, TOML, RESJSON and Nextcloud JSON are now supported.
New translate-toolkit release! Now using the new Rust-based text wrapper for PO files and bringing other fixes.
My first ever #Rust code! I never planned to write any, but after the Unicode-segmentation module I used disappeared overnight, I built a replacement—and rewrote the gettext wrapping while at it, since that was the real bottleneck when updating PO files.
🚀 translate-toolkit 3.17.0 is out!
Includes several new formats and improvements to existing ones—coming to @weblate.org soon.
🌍 There will be a Translations Devroom at @fosdem.org 2026!
Got something interesting for open-source translators?
Submit your proposal on time 😉.
Weblate 5.14.1 is out!
And of course—right after tagging the Docker image, Django drops a security update 😅.
So expect 5.14.1.1 soon!
With the next Weblate release just around the corner, it’s a great time for some translate-toolkit fixes!
Fixing a security bug years after it was reported is still better than not fixing it, right? Thanks to the @github.com Secure Open Source Fund I'm slowly going through the python-social-auth issue tracker, and this was hidden there as well.
python-social-auth just got a new release, bringing fixes and improvements for many backends. 👉 github.com/python-so...
Want to help out? We need to figure out which backends are no longer useful. 👉
Friday is the best day of the week to release some bug fixes. Translate-toolkit 3.16.2 fixes various corner cases in supported formats. #FridayRelease
We're discussing future support of database servers in @weblate.org We might focus on PostgreSQL only.
