I agree in that we shouldn't validate false information, it's more about validating the emotion behind those beliefs-- so often people are driven by fear into believing these things and by saying "I see your fear and understand it" you can do more good than just shaming people

You can't do it with EVERYONE, you can only be available for those who you truly genuinely care for, but people need a place to go and safely ask questions when they finally see the light.

Yes, this! It's important to stand firm with those deep in the weeds, but people HAVE to know there is a space safe waiting for them once they do finally start to see the cracks. Ostricizing and shaming people forces them to stay right where they are.
