Just explained what the Y2K phenomenon was to a co-worker born in 2003. Never thought I'd be in this position so soon, spinning yarns from bygone days to the younger generation.

Lost. She dropped a pivotal waffle in the late innings.

I was not aware of this Pesach fact. Maybe go for the commemorative 1977 ticket
It is always a fetid petri dish. 77¢ hot dogs tomorrow night 🌭
One good thing about the Jays' nosedive: it will thin out the ranks of bandwagon fans who thought the highs of '25 were the norm. Ticket prices will come down on the after-market when they inevitably rage quit being a baseball fan

Filled out one of those #MarchMadness brackets in about 5 minutes this morning completely using simulator picks to join my 15-year old nephew's family competition. Hope I crush his well-researched choices and prove that randomness defeats ingenuity a significant amount of times in sports
1991 Upper Deck (with the gimmicky Michael Jordan card). UD was a big step up in cardstock quality with bonuses like the hologram team logo stickers, checklist player paintings (by Vernon Wells' dad). I hoped D.J. Dozier would be the next 2-sport star like Bo Jackson as I had his rookie card.
Should we be concerned you have friends named Bootleg Guy & Chicken Puppet
Yes. Still the best value-for-$ I've ever paid for something baseball-related, ($9.00 500-level ticket). I really thought Canada was going to tie it in the 9th with Morneau and Bay coming up and the tying run on 2nd. J.J. Putz wasn't that good anymore and he was wild that inning. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That could have been representatives of Hanlan's Point SABR Chapter that Caissie pointed to on his home run btw... @ruthkapelus.bsky.social @philfparkinson.bsky.social
2 awesome things here:
1) The Willie Mays style basket catch by Arenado.
2) The Colombian jersey. Love the clean stencil font and the yellow piping.
Going to be so fun watching this man play shortstop for a full season in Toronto.
Lollllll
I've bankrolled the one on Yonge, north of Dundas Sq. buying unlimited bags of the organic multigrain pancake mix
A welcome sign for the 2026 SABR Analytics Conference stands in front of an American flag. In the background are empty red theater seats going up to a terrace. A few rows of wooden fold-out seats are in the front of the room.
Calm before the storm! We’re about to get under way with the 2026 SABR Analytics Conference: sabr.org/analytics
Not sure if they still have it but in 2015 when I saw games in Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, they had free sunscreen stations around the ballpark. That was a really pleasant free bonus
1996-04-12: Seattle at Toronto. Griffey Jr. 2 long HRs. But that paled in comparison to: him, in the on-deck circle, picks up a foul ball, throws it over his shoulder behind his back and without looking swung his bat backwards with one hand, hitting the ball over the screen youtu.be/WtQ9M2YD_DI?...
Aug-Sept '89 was so exciting as a 10-year old. My first game at the Dome, Wilson hit a medium-depth 1B to left-center that he stretched into a 2B because he hustled out of the box and caught Milwaukee off guard. I had never seen anything like it. Jays were 36-18 when he played. Incredible.

Was taking an end-of-year moratorium from 'Sky & Twitter until I saw this. IMO, Order of Canada is a joke. If the advisory council had any *stones*, they'd hold a disinvestiture ceremony and kick Gretzky out. He couldn't care less about Canada. This article is from *2018* macleans.ca/news/canada/...
... yeah, I think your choice of Gibby for SABR Day was superior to possibly learning about these culinary arts
It's been a long December. Is there reason to believe that maybe next year will be better?
I need to trade my friends for your friends. Your friends offer you game 7 World Series tickets. My friends and I just spent a half hour angrily dissecting the game ending play
