I AM DOING MY OWN LAUNDRY, RIGHT NOW, IN MY HOUSE

Sammy! Although his eyes look very Ladybug-y in that picture. But Ladybug never hides from vacuums because what if they might pet Ladybug? LADYBUG MUST INVESTIGATE

A pair of yellow cat eyes is the only thing visible in a dark cubby hole blocked by a pile of linens and stuffed toys

There was a vacuum cleaner.

I disappeared from the world for 4h and finished this in one sitting. Really fun one-of-these (solve mystery on computer). Just hard enough to be enjoyable, well-written, fun to interact with, cool little tangents you can go on. Strong recommend!

If you’re looking for some way to help.

That is very kind, but unnecessary. I have my very own strapping young lad here in the person of my teenaged son, but also the washer purchase includes installation, and the dishwasher needs fussy installation by a pro or else the warranty is shorter. Bless you for the offer, though. <3

Guess who no longer has a tub of lukewarm filth water as a roommate? THIS GUY! I paid a very nice man to drain the fell quagmire and disconnect my now unemployed laundry machines.

I’m on my way to the appliance store and instead of being filled with financial terror, I’m just really excited. YAYYYY

I'm so sorry, Phil. What a handsome devil, and I'm sure he knew it.

Things are shitty for so many people, and if you can't chip in, BELIEVE ME I UNDERSTAND. But if you can, please know I am so grateful.

If you know folks who know me and might be interested, pass it on! Or who don't know me but are magnanimous, kind, and/or rich? I ain't picky.

Reposting for the morning crowd / insomnia crowd / other time zone crowd / look I am just assuming there are crowds of some kind:

My washer died, I can't afford even a bad one, let alone one that is wheelchair accessible, and I need help.

So, my washer/dryer is very broken and needs to be replaced, and my budget for that is *checks notes* zero dollars, and Internet Friends, I need help.

I find it helpful to think of LLMs as interpreting prompts as if they were preceded by "Try to sound like..."

"Try to sound like you are concise and analytic" Great, that is desired behaviour.
But "Try to sound like you haven't invented data" makes it clear why that part does not offer protection.

- Stardew Valley, again, but with mods. The mod community is HUGENORMOUS, including several mega content expansions - Stardew Valley Expanded and Visit Mount Vapius are good places to start. This took me from "wow I sunk 500 hours into this farm game" to *checks Steam* ...7694 hours. Welp.

- Okami, which is 40-80 hours, gorgeous, and so fucking relaxing. Your day job is doing favours for trees and feeding birds and also fighting monsters with the power of calligraphy. I have 100%ed it like 8 times and I will do it 8 more times probably.

- Bugsnax, maybe? Either you bounce off the controls in the first hour or the fruit with googly eyes and the queer fuckup muppet characters suck you in. Surprisingly deep plot, lots of side quests / cheevos to chase and oh no it's 4AM and I'm chasing a raspberry and have forgotten human civilization

- A Highland Song, combination exploration / rhythm game roguelite which is so beautiful and sweet and is one of those games I have bought on three platforms
- I keep having to slap my hand away from recommending IWATE
- Loddlenaut, underwater powerwasher sim with axolotls, short but engrossing

- Fossil Corner, a logic/sorting game where you categorize infinity trilobites while the protagonist ignores emails from friends unsuccessfully trying to get him to leave the house instead of categorizing fossils, but like, in a light-hearted way. Plus fossil... breeding? Somehow?

Well, cats don't have great colour vision, I'll cut my cat-parents some slack on the name.

I deeply appreciate that within 30 seconds of making a post that was 50% meows, a trans catgirl has favourited it. Is she a bot, is she a terminally online cat, is it a coincidence, I do not care; it was magical.

Give folks their flowers

No, I mean right now. Go tell someone you loved their work right now. They're on social media just say it, it has never been easier

"They know how much people love--" no they don't go say it right now to a composer or artist or game dev or writer or anyone AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Dear parents - Yes you can give your sick child paracetamol if they’re >3 months old. It’s an excellent painkiller. It brings down a high temperature. It’s one of the safest drugs available. You are right to want to soothe your child’s distress. Evidence supports your good parenting. Be confident.

Smear of vaseline in a hard to reach spot just before they have a shower, so they can re-enact cleaning the brie out of the bread knife through interpretive dance.
