The new revamp of the original muppet show is pretty good. The original puppeteers worried it might not be with Disney but thankfully they kept it authentic. But of course few people have seen it as we don’t really have mass audiences and joint experiences in the same way anymore.

Oh apart from the Muppet show which is of course not American but British. Did you hear my doc about its British origins a few months ago? www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...
They just feel false and contrived to me - can’t take em seriously and US comedy I just don’t find funny these days
Yeah Tom and the others probably identify with them more than me. I have a real issue with US TV I’m afraid. Just doesn’t connect which is bizarre as I loved it as a kid - chips, Waltons, Charlie’s angels, different strokes, mork and mindy lol. But something changed about how they make em imo
Mind you there are some weak bits in heated rivalry clearly aimed at the US audience down south. There’s one ep that really dumbs down lol - but it recovers.
I watched a bit. But I find US stuff a turn off. Doesn’t really connect with me. Often too OTT. lol. I enjoyed Heated Rivalry which was a bit more real from the Canadians
Yeah I doubt there will be. The new bi guy in EastEnders is v good but there’s no struggle. Hence my question about ‘is it just a walk in the park!?’
Yeah it’s nothing to do with Disney + .. it’s a Channel 4 show from 2018. Typical US conglomerates making it look like it’s theirs. I found it a bit dour
Is this the original one with Maxine Peake?
Image of two men and woman (bisexual) walking hand in hand through a park
Anyone who listens to bisexual brunch will know how hard it is for most bi people to be open & accepted. We now seem to be witnessing acknowledgement of our existence in more drama but we’ve gone from nothing to ‘it’s a walk in the park’ - no portrayal of the reality. How do we feel about this?

Eastenders bi triangle BUT Not a mention of the word bisexual. What is the problem with acknowledging the existence? Josh could have said. ‘So, you bi?’. Being bisexual for so many men of all ages is a struggle & fraught with biphobia & misunderstanding & erasure @bbceastenders needs to reflect this
I’d never seen this. Funny
Oscar has said he swings both ways a few times BUT it’s all portrayed like being bi doesn’t come with hurdles to overcome with straight & gay people - and self understanding. Oscar’s a great character but they need to acknowledge what being bi can be like
Yes it’s very good. Oscar in Enders is great too but storyline again airbrushing the word bisexual so far

A new episode of Bisexual Brunch podcast is out. Ashley and Lewis are joined by author Laura Clarke who wrote the book ‘Step Bi Step’, lots of discussion around hot bi character Ilya in #heatedrivalry played by Conner Storrie (pictured below) And two powerful bi journey stories from Amsterdam & Mcr
Oh I’m strange. I prefer the cold. Loathe the sun worshipping lol
Thanks Ady. Hope you’re well x

Well either way the bisexuality is being flattened in the discourse. Public just think it’s all gay
In the books that led to #heatedrivalry the #bisexuality of Ilya Rozanov is acknowledged. In the tv series it’s not mentioned leading to a flattening of the #bisexual identity in the show & bi-erasure across the media. Why? @skytv @CraveCanada @RadioTimes @BellMediaPR @BiDotOrg
So who’s watched #heatedrivalry & what do you think? Does it do #bisexuality justice? Let us know your views - email info@madeinmanchester.tv & are u seeing its bisexual elements discussed or mentioned in the press? @BisexualBrunch wants your help to make sure the B isn’t erased
I’ve not seen it yet
Are you a bisexual brunch listener ?
Heated Rivalry out tonight #skytv but does it properly reflect #bisexuality? Let us know your thoughts. It’s time bi lives were acknowledged rather than constantly erased. #bisexual #endbierasure
