"OC RAMBLINGS: In some messed up way Somber does have romantic feelings for both Ambrose and Rein, but due to his upbringing and their whole childhood incident his views and actions are immensely twisted. Rein is very much only focused on Ambrose, but also putting him before her own personal wants/desires and for a good chunk of her early arc isn’t honest about her feelings and is extremely guarded. Ambrose has feelings for her as well but I think culturally is non-monogamous, and is relatively open sexually. And while he wants to get close to her, he's got his own needs too. 😔 From Somber’s pov he’s only been taught to see humans as toys, and doesn't fully understands what he's feeling or how to navigate it in a healthy way - rather takes what he wants by force and manipulation, and maximizing pain to his supposed enemies. For him Ambrose is also a much easier target than Rein b/c Ambrose isn't aware of their past, Somber can hold that secret over Rein to keep her from interfering, and Ambrose's deteriorating mental state from his damaged anima makes him prime for being used. With an added bonus of causing emotional distress to Rein because Somber is well aware that she pines for Ambrose."
