Splashdown was perfect and beautiful! I didn't expect to cry - watching that healed something that has hurt since 1986 in Ms. Tamrowski's sixth grade English class.

“The peasants you kill are your own brothers and sisters. … No soldier is obliged to obey a law contrary to the law of God. In the name of God, in the name of our tormented people, I beseech you, I implore you; in the name of God I command you to stop the repression.”
- St. Óscar Romero
Simply wonderful.
you should always get out of the house, there might be a baby who is still learning about waving hello
Mostly at a normal service time, especially on Thursdays, when we have noonday prayer and a family Eucharistic service in the evening. Sometimes someone will put together a choral evensong, and students write the Tenebrae service. We get a lot of chances to practice, which is fabulous.
Seminary of the Southwest (Episcopal) - we have three specifically liturgy classes, and we serve in chapel three times a day on weekdays (AM & PM offices and mid-day Eucharist). Students also create worship services for specific feast days or saints they would like to honor - St. Gallaudet, e.g.
I've been really enjoying Hans Urs von Balthasar on this in a class on eschatology I'm taking this semester.
Almost finished with my second year, and same. I scored lowest on Luther, the tradition I was raised in - maybe my rebellious phase is Byzantine. Which would fit, tbh.
I would love an NRSVue journaling bible!
I do believe this counts in the Dio of Texas, particularly if the tacos are good.
It was wonderful, locker room and walk down the hallway in a swimsuit be darned.
In an hour, I'm going to an aqua strength training class for the first time. This involves being in a swimsuit in the public. A friend is picking me up, which is the only thing that's going to get me out of the house for this.
It’s a shame that class didn’t live up to its name, because it sounds awesome. Most of mine were boring as well, but there were a few gems.

Adventures in seminary - checking the syllabi and somehow I'm already behind even though classes haven't started yet. Every semester, lol. Snow days are for reading and coffee.
They shot Renee Good in the face.
They kidnapped Liam Ramos.
They just executed a man on the street.
Unmask them. Prosecute them. No more secret police.

People like glass showers and regular glass breaks into artery-slicing danger shards? 🤷♀️
Ha! It sure is
I worked in residential glass for awhile, and the trade off of tempered glass is it’s brittle and easy to shatter from being heated and cooled repeatedly, especially if the frame weakens so the glass has more pressure on a corner.
Yes. Tempered shower panels do that pretty often.
Generally, living a block from the UT Austin campus is pleasant enough. On UT v A&M game night, it is not so okay.
So. Much. Noise.
A picture of a copy of St. Augustine’s Prayer Book on a messy desk.
Aw, yiss
Congratulations!
This is so wholesome tho
I visited a different local parish for the baptism of a dear friend's son (and to become a godparent!). The hymns were bangers today. Top notch all around.
Still gives me the heebie-jeebies, lol
Unfortunately I do
