Extremely grateful for the lovely words about The Hallows from The Fantasy Hive team. Super proud to be a semi finalist with my weird little fantasy noir. This week has been a good week!

I'm so sorry :(
Want a fantasy hug of a book with telepathic moonhounds, a fantastical magic system and a world to lose yourself in? #fantasy #book
When fate delivered a dog with a ridgie dad, thereβs only one name we could give him.

The book cover sits in the center of the image. It shows a young white woman in futuristic space armor shooting a laser cannon from hip height. She is wearing a plaid hat instead of a helmet. Behind her is a floor made of a purple mechanical designs done in neon, and behind her is outer space. The background of the image is a nebula in the same purple colors as the book cover.

"Balances explosive action with deepening character arcs in a way that feels earned...This series isnβt just escalating in power. Itβs escalating in consequence."

Important if you're unpublishing books on D2D; you need to delete your account to avoid the fee.
Dear Lord, I keep my fingers crossed for you all tomorrow!
And here we go! First 5 cuts for #SPFBO from Fantasy Faction!
First Mage on the Moon? Don't listen to us, listen to Charlie.
My March wrap up, 9 covers as a collage: Of Song and Shadow by Matthews To Ride the Rising Storm by Blackgoose All that We See Or Seem by Liu The Tattling Whisper Wood by Wallace Leave no Dragon Stone unturned by Grace The Crimson Court by Noble Legacy Bound by Daly Keeper of the Gate by Feuerman The Non Magical Declan Moore by Taylor
Me grinning after today's run, a black dog on my back, looking over my shoulder, pretty but not blurry tree blossoms in the background
March was a few books month, but I did 44,7km of running, which is almost double to the last 12 months!
Hope to get through more bills again in April!
Also, first Spfbo post coming soon, so follow @fantasyfaction.bsky.social π

Retagging! @natania.bsky.social
Congratulations!
I'm definitely not a marketer!
I might enjoy selling books after 21 years in the bookshop, but the pleasure is in finding the *right* book for someone, not just in seeking copies and people might not be Happy with them...
I read I'd say:
90% fantasy,
5% sci-fi,
0% horror
5% thriller, fiction, non-fiction, whatever strikes my fancy
Iβm doing a bit of research for a potential article on reading habits of SFFH fans.
So, if you read SFFH do you also read other genres and if so, which ones?
All answers welcome and reposts appreciated for visibility. Thank you!
Of Song and Shadow by G.R. Matthews
Book #33
Cold air, sharp breaths, and people who refuse to break.
Different lives colliding, each carrying grit, loyalties and purpose. Loss, grief and adaptation.
Found family, stubborn survival, and quiet determination that lingers.
πππͺ #FantasyFaction
Legacy Bound by Elizabeth Daly
Book #32
Sibling love that feels earned. Fierce, protective, real.
Three paths finding each other, with loyalty at the core.
Familiar territory, but with enough heart to make it matter.
πππͺ #FantasyFaction
Leave No Dragon Stone Unturned by Alexa Grave
Book #31
Fast, fun and unapologetically breezy.
A magical restaurant, a stolen stone, and enough romantic / libido tension to power a small city.
Great if you like wet t-shirts and lacy underwear packing more than me. π
Light comfort food fantasy that knows what it is.
πππͺ #FantasyFaction
The Non-Magical Declan Moore by Nathan Taylor photoshopped onto an ereader surrounded by dice
Book #30
All the right ingredients for a magic school story, but they never quite come together for me.
Fast paced and readable, but the emotional core needed more grounding. One side character almost steals the whole show though.

Good we need more.
I just finished a book with so much "I don't wear bras, I only have them if I'm forced to wear a sheer top" (who does the forcing?)
And wondering wether to pack the Lacey underwear for a professional excursion. And how the wet shirt coins to all get curves. More ace please...
Luckily the boy has finally got the gist of running, so he gets 1-2k of sniffing as much as he wants time on the long leash, then we run with the bungee, and end on another 1-2k of sniffing excursion.
He's now perfectly running along instead of stopping every 5 metres!
I've lost almost 30kg in 2017/2018 before COVID stole my batteries in 2023, and I've struggled with running and exercise hard for years. I've gained around 15kg back since then due to not moving giving me cravings.
My HRV has finally recovered enough for me to move again, so off we go!

I've been a bit quiet here lately - why?
I've finally got to the point where I can run again, and so I've been trying to eat well, do some strength and run again!
As I've never done strength, I've also watched a lot of YouTube & such, so little reading, more moving!
4,6kg down 10kg to go. π

The one you have is the suggested start for the series! I did some digging as well before I bought it π
I feel you on that! I am making some progress on one boom, but that's a wandering inn book, that's about 1 billion pages long, so you don't really notice it π
I'm currently stalling on books myself, really need to get back on track!
Hope you'll enjoy! It's definitely different than any other sci-fi I read so far.
I'm putting together a post of indie and self-published SFF by trans and non-binary authors if anyone would like to be added! (If I miss you for the post, I can also add you to my LGBTQIA+ collection!)
It's so weird.
And I love it to bits for it π
