While it is true that Japanese and US animation studios aren’t very comparable, I think that doesn’t hold much weight. That’s why I initially gave HB as an example to compare. It has, imo, 10x better animation while working with a fraction of Invincible’s budget.

Yes, he started in comic books with TWD, but he was mainly the writer and creator, not the artist. He delegated the art to other artists.

Also saw this. Only 4 compositors to make 8 full 1 hour episodes is a joke. Most of the time we can blame Amazon, but this imo is not one of those times.

I’m not sure how accurate this is, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Amazon gives Kirkman the budget he needs. He’s just not using it appropriately whatsoever. Plus, Invincible is basically THE shonen of the US and Amazon’s golden goose. This is 100% on Kirkman and whoever else manages the budget.

The problem is, I’ve recently seen some stuff about Kirkman that suggests he doesn’t view animation as a serious way to tell a story. Plus, he 100% has the budget. He is just treating Invincible as a live action show burning most of the budget to hire a list celebrities, a bunch for one time roles.

Kinda crazy how HB has 10x the animation quality compared to Invincible, and working at a fraction of the budget Invincible gets.

AND HB SEASONS 1 AND 2 WERE ENTIRELY INDIPENDENT
