Let's all use this occasion to take a look at the many ways Tennessee Republicans have shown how much they value and respect the Traditional Nuclear Family™

If you paid taxes for 2025, you likely paid:

$124 — school lunch & nutrition programs
$49 — diplomacy to prevent wars
$19 — USPS
$19 — Federal Aviation Administration
$18 — national parks

and

$4,049 — weapons and war.

These priorities are hurting us all. We need change. #TaxDay

I like this because it articulates the conservative concept of freedom in a nutshell. You have the freedom to do x, except you don't, because I don't want you to. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:

Am in the same bewildered boat. The last I heard it was the Evers appointed Reagents trying to oust him before Gov elections to ensure a pro-education person in that role, but unanimous vote throws that theory out. The Examiner article just talks about poor performance reviews, but hard to imagine.

just to be clear, everyone, when 8 pm EDT comes and goes, regardless of what does or does not happen, the president still threatened genocide and war crimes and we should still impeach, arrest, and try him

25th amendment. Impeachment. I will support any avenue to remove Donald Trump from office. We cannot leave this man in charge of America’s nuclear weapons as he threatens to end an entire civilization. And Congress must not fund this reckless administration.

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

“A whole civilization will die tonight” is the most vile thing a US president has ever said, certainly during the post-1945 era when they’ve had the power to kill civilizations with the dropping of a bomb. I’m staring into the darkness. May this not be one of the most fateful days in human history.

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act would generate over $6 trillion over the next decade—without raising taxes on 99.85% of American households.

This wealth tax for millionaires and billionaires could pay for universal child care, free community college, Medicare expansion, and more.

Comes weeks after they said they were transitioning to a venture capitalist CEO? Maybe this AI thing has been in the works for a while, but when they announced the new CEO I figured it was only a matter of time until this platform sells out.

This is nuts. The only reason to do this is the cruelty and the racism. It will actively harm the U.S. economy. We're not talking about undocumented migrant workers here. These are legal PERMANENT residents.

Social movement scholar here again. So, why protest?

Nihilists were out yesterday arguing that "protests don't do anything."

No Kings rallies across Wisconsin draw thousands • Wisconsin Examiner Protesters highlighted two developments: Trump’s decisions to launch a war with Iran and send federal immigration agents to the Twin Cities.

"In La Crosse and Viroqua on Saturday, protesters asked about Republican Congressman Derrick Van Orden, a vocal ally of President Trump who has represented the district since 2023, responded with eye rolls, name calling and, in one case, a fart noise..."

La Croose, WI showing up for #NoKings. BY FAR the biggest protest. Spanning from K-Mart to Kwik Trip on Losey

Social movement scholar here to comment on No King again. a 🧵:

These protests are important b/c:

1.) as sustained image events, protests offer evidence of continued disapproval of the direction the country is going and disavowal of the country's leadership.

God fucking dammit, dude. These fucking monsters. That little girl, presumably this woman’s daughter, sobbing and alone at the end of the video has filled me with a sad rage that can’t be healthy.

And the cowardly, useless cops protecting these kidnappers? All guilty.

Why is a PAC for a Florida high-speed rail line helping to fund an inexperienced Congressional candidate in Wisconsin?

Might have something to do with his father-in-law, MTV reality star-turned-Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

Donald Trump letting you know how the authoritarian capture of the media is going, in case you missed it. Unlike other authoritarians in places like Hungary and Poland he has no worries about advertising his authoritarian take over of the media.

I live in Minnesota and I want the federal government to stop trying to kill us. And hurt us. I want them to stop attacking us.

It sucks.

We’re just trying to live our lives and take care of each other and we don’t deserve all this.

I kid around sometimes here but I’m not kidding now.

The Supreme Court's tariff decision means the government may have to pay corporations $175 BILLION in refunds.

Corporations raised prices and passed those costs off to you.

Your family likely paid $1,700 in tariff fees last year.

And corporations are getting the refund.

Scam.

Epstein Files Are Missing Records About Woman Who Made Claim Against Trump

NYT confirms MS NOW:

The Epstein files released by the Trump Justice Department failed to include some key materials — FBI memos summarizing interviews — related to a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted by both Trump and Epstein decades earlier, when she was a minor.
