Beaches all around Puerto Rico. Plays Buye was beautiful but crowded. Escambron had fun snorkeling but the little secluded beach by us was one of our favorites. We love when the locals ask us how we found it. This is where we paused, relaxed and recharged.

Walking to my gate at MIA to go home is pretty depressing. Every gate I’ve passed is to some exotic location. St. Lucia, Dominica, Bahamas, Angola, Tortola, Marsh Harbour, Eleuthera, etc.
Can we just stay?

Blue sky basin
Blue sky basin in Vail closed for the season. It is the back most bowl in Vail & where we like to go if we go to Vail. Had we had elected to go skiing on spring break this year, it wouldn’t even be an option.
What a wknd! Culmination of the craft show that my daughter and her cousin teamed up for. They had a month to prepare and did a great job! I was either at the venue or at soccer. There was no in between.
Spring skiing when it’s almost 60 is wild thing. I’m thinking I’ll snowboard though. Skied for the first time in years last week to teach my niece and she’s a natural. I did hit almost 25mph which was terrifying but still a snails pace compared to my kids 50-60mph.
Holiday Valley trip w/ friends was a blast! Everyone was everywhere all over the mtn so random run ins were even more fun. Thx to friends for adopting my kids most of the wknd. They had more fun skiing w/ their kids than w/ me. 😂 Apres ski w/ hot tub, night skiing & dinners completed this trip!
Pushing myself way more than I have in a long time & more than I even should. So then why am I suffering fomo that everyone is going night skiing right now? Just stop. Now.
A good friend saw this and said “No one can obsess like you.”
Been a bit busy but I’m ok with it.
It’s been a week since I’ve had my new toy. More colors on the way. New winter hobby.
That’s why what they are saying about the mother bothers me. I have no idea what anyone has done to them to would bother them enough that they need to be that judgmental.
“Breathing even! Because you know, the flu can kill too.”
Sigh. Lamenting about this is as pointless as those judging someone they don’t know & who is dealing with a tragic accident-I love skiing with my family & being able to enjoy the outdoors in the winter.
be doing extreme sports. I forget that people think snow sports are extreme sports because if you’re doing responsibly, it’s really not. I was honestly surprised to see people write that as if they had said “She has 6 kids. How dare she have the audacity to enjoy a winter hobby! Get some fresh air.”
my visor in the snow. I was fine, it really didn’t even hurt. Maybe a slight headache? The outcome could have been different though-like what happened to this mom and that’s really scary.
It was a bit sad to see some keyboard warrior comments who said that this is a mother of 6. That she shouldn’t
I lost sight of my family. Maybe I stepped down too hard on my front foot-Idk. Next thing you know, I pitched forward and my helmet hit the ground. It was essentially a face plant and my helmet took the brunt of it. I had to take a moment to catch my breath before I started gathering the pieces of
I had a pretty bad fall the first full day at Keystone trying to catch up to my family. It was on Mozart, an even more difficult blue run and the only way from the 1st mountain to the 2nd & 3rd mtns with even more challenging terrain. I was in control but just pushed the pedal a little more when
It was a blue run, Upper Frenchman, on the front of Dercum Mountain. Wide open groomer with plenty of space to turn. The mother is an avid snowboarder & lives out there so it’s extra troubling to hear this. How everything can change in the blink of an eye.
My feed has decided to show me every skiing accident that’s happened this season so far. A 39 yr old mother of 6 face planted snowboarding at Keystone & broke her spine. She is now in serious condition. I’m very familiar with the run she was on & rode that back to the village every day I was there.
Motherly love is scraping & cleaning an insane amount of mud off all 3 pairs of kids shoes after a muddy tromp through the woods till the sun has set. And this cleaning sesh is after everyone has gone to bed.
Order of stores I hated going to today:
5. Abercrombie
4. Alter’d State
3. Sephora
2. Claire’s
1. Five below
Today felt nice outside. Even if it was 20 degrees less but I’m bundled up, the ski slopes feel like this. Surrounded by trees & nature. The air is crisp & there’s a 300+ ft drop ahead of me. Feeling cold is the last thing on my mind. I NEED to snowboard & can’t wait to do it again.
Not into sports enough to watch games on TV. I watch football because my friends do & tennis was the one exception. Saw Inter Miami was playing so thought I’d give it a few minutes to see Messi. It was riveting. Didn’t expect to be glued to the TV watching Inter Miami’s goals to beat Vancouver. ⚽️
So bored now that I’m playing video games with my son. Well, let’s say he plays most of the game Last of Us until zombies show up and he tosses me the remote. Do I know how to use the controls? Ha, nope. I didn’t even know I had a gun till I beat two zombies into a pulp with my fists.
I’m reading that Michigan might get 30-40 inches of Lake effect snow this weekend. Wonder if it’s true and if so, how much of it will we get in Ohio. No ski resorts open in the area and can’t go even if they were. Sigh.
After I let my son help juice fruits for our homemade beverage, I also taught him how to dissemble and clean the juicer.
Him: “Mom, if I ever become a comedian, I am definitely going to talk about this. The struggle is real.”
Not afraid of mountains or coasters but this….been hit before so I know. #facts
It has been an awful week of sleep. Not sure if the is the new normal but it isn’t sustainable.
On a brighter note, I’m so grateful for my sweet friends and family. The visits, the lunches and gifts. Definitely makes this girl feel special.
5K for the kids. Both boys have trained & it would be the 1st time they race together.
Youngest lead the whole race. Older brother ran past him at the end w/ a 6 sec lead. Daughter & cuz finished 3 mins later at the 30 min mark.
Awesome swag & fun run w/ cousins for their first 5K together!
