Decided to get the majority of my remaining SFX finds for the Ratchet trilogy showcased out of the way while I still had time to do so, as I have multiple time consuming projects to tackle this year. It's smaller than my usual fare but still covers an additional 23 SFX!

I first saw the BBC article at 3AM last night and thought I was imagining things. Really didn't expect to see any further DMP episodes recovered at this point due to the slim odds, my nerd ass WILL be there when they drop in April... as long as they don't AI slop them like the recent BluRay boxsets.
Here's another entry into my SFX Sample Origins series! This long overdue third dip into the PS1 Spyro trilogy partially or entirely covers over 35 additional sound effect origins, including several enemy vocalisations and some other pretty notable Spyro 2 / 3 SFX!

I may potentially post some cherry picked photos from these discs on here in the near future as there's some genuinely good shots of mid 2000's Canada / England that might be worth publicly preserving. I'd have to carefully audit them to protect the identity of whoever this was out of respect though
Thankfully they were not only clean of anything horrendous or awkward, but several discs are exclusively made up of a bunch of photographs and a couple videos taken by someone who seemingly had a UK / Canada dual citizenship. This performance snippet originates from one of these discs.
For some context, a family member recently bought a metal case intended for storage use at an auction, which inexplicably still contained an intact collection of burned CD-R / DVD-R's containing files dating from the late 90's up to the end of 2006. Naturally as an archivist I had to back them up...
Hi, here's a 21 year old live performance excerpt of an artist I know nothing about: youtu.be/lHUa6wsCWPw?...
Especially since the only tracks that I've seen make it intact in remixed form are the ones we already explicitly know were Rémi's work (First Steps, Magician, Game Over, Flight Of The Mosquito etc). Real shame as that OG OST is particularly integral to the experience for me.
Rayman 30th OST issues are deeply disappointing and killed any interest I would have had in getting it, wonder if it's down to rights issues with the other 4 composers aside from the late Rémi Gazel since to this day we still don't know which tracks Frédéric Prados, Nathalie Drouet etc even made.
Finally got around to properly scanning this disc so the upload isn't using a crummy rushed photograph anymore.
I plan to upload some revised documentation for this series once the archive .org servers are back online.
Happy new year everyone!
After a 2 year absense (caused by other very demanding projects taking priority) here is a long overdue new entry for my Videogame SFX Sample Origins video series! This entry covers (either partially or entirely) 37 additional SFX for the PS2 Ratchet & Clank trilogy!

Aw man, praying episode 6's FLA survives at least for the chance to hear a non crusty version of that neat 8 bit Legendary Theme cover at the party (though idk if that would even make it intact into a remastered ver).
Here's a hastily made late night video regarding the recently released Shadow The Hedgehog E3 prototype's OST and a man's thoughts regarding Y2K youtu.be/7h-MFIhCx7I?...
Turns out it's extremely easy to replace the video files of TLoS A New Beginning
Naturally there's huge spoilers in there for some of the content in the mod, so avoid this playlist for now if you intended to check it out but hadn't done so yet (even of some of the content shown is in a very early state in the clips)
Since I'm a fan of game dev history, prototypes etc I thought releasing a bunch of my own dev material would be a neat thing to do, especially as these clips feature early iterations of many of my additions, a couple bugs etc. A couple versions of my V0.55 trailer mockups are included too!
Here's something I admittedly released about a week ago but forgot to post about: a playlist featuring early WIP gameplay footage of Spyro ETD: Hardmode! Originally these clips were only shown to Mr.FO1 and a very select few other people during development.

Here it is! Just like the Definitive Edition mod I advise for players to use V1.60 of PCSX2 rather than the most recent builds, as 1.7.0 onwards introduced a handful of annoying emulator exclusive bugs that persist to this day. We're hoping they can be fixed eventually.
Special thanks to fellow Spyro Soundfont team member Wonkatoad for this snazzy final version of the trailer (based off of a mockup version I made), as well as Mr.FO1 for providing a handful of additional edits and doing a ton of bug fixing throughout development!
Built on top of the Definitive Edition mod, currently a little over half of the game's levels & minigames are in a 90-100% finished state (though I may go back and expand them even more for V1.00), and a large chunk of the remaining levels have also been updated to a much smaller extent for now.

The first public version of the mod that took up most of my free time for the past year is almost here! Greatly increasing the difficulty and remixing the game's content, V0.55 of Spyro ETD: Hardmode will be a fresh (and much more difficult!) way to experience the game.
It's going to take a long while to upload on my end too, archive is being slow as shit today.
It was a huge dream of mine to be able to provide a new PS2 Ratchet build, but now I got that snatched away from me from stretching myself too thin and being insistent on having every proto I release be 100% researched and with supplementary gameplay videos (I have no capture card).

Guess I'm rush revealing / releasing that I have a copy of the just dumped RC3 SCEE Review build too (had this copy since the end of 2023), but had no one to successfully patch it and it got stuck in limbo between my million other projects.
Nintendo is really funny because they regularly do evil corpo shit but get a pass from their fans because their Gameboy comforted them when their parents were fighting.
A cropped screenshot showing a spam email dated May 28th 2017 at 22:39PM. The header for the email reads "Stoney phallus for a long time" and the content for the email is as follows: "Hi Ya! Sexual satisfaction to your belle! Quickly buy CIALIS! Read more you can find here. Bye-Bye!"
I've decided that the world needs to see this spam email that I received many years ago on an old retired email account. That subject line has been living in my head rent free ever since I first saw it.
That's all for now, my next release should hopefully be my very late and constantly delayed Spyro ETD Hardmode mod's first public build...
One difference that amused me is that this prototype is missing (among some other files) the unused placeholder texture test01.tga, despite the final PS2 build containing it. It was already removed yet it snuck back into the final game somehow lol
