CEOs Say AI Is Making Work More Efficient. Employees Tell a Different Story. How much time workers say the technology saves them on the job is vastly different from what executives report.

The disconnect between management and employee on AI usage is big. At the same time, CEOs are reporting they aren't seeing any revenue growth from AI.

Report: At this point we are just trying to figure who Canadian Parliament WON'T give a standing ovation to OTTAWA - After members of the Canadian Parliament earlier today gave a standing ovation to recently deceased far-right agitator who touted white supremacist theories, Charlie Kirk, we here at The Beaverton are stuck trying to figure out if there’s literally anyone our elected officials won’t celebrate.

A little humour for this Tuesday afternoon courtesy of the laugh-smiths at The Beaverton:

Two major AI coding tools wiped out user data after making cascading mistakes “I have failed you completely and catastrophically,” wrote Gemini.

AI babysitters will be the new AI but it will be poorly paid human beings.

I mean, ideally.

Your country is rapidly descending into fascism and you seem oblivious. Your military has been deployed in your own country and you should be very alarmed rather than equivocating. Good luck.

Ok.

Then let it die.

Because theft is theft.

And even worse if you’re profiting from the crime.

Hunger striking is a normal tactic of labour and political activism.

Putting your body on the line for your beliefs is a core human activity.

See: War.

All the best to you.

Really incredible to have CTV, an entire broadcast news outlet, say they 'don't have the bandwidth' to deal with the type of harassment that Rachel Gilmore deals with as an individual journalist all the time.

Instead of progress bars or beach balls or spirals to let you know when they were working, '80s computers had massive disk drives that sounded like they were grinding the information into the surface every time you asked them for something.

Programming on emulators just isn't the same.

My TRS-80 CoCo Canyon Drop game where you descend an ever narrowing canyon before being crushed between the two walls is a kind of metaphor for the times I suppose. But this kind of nostalgia seems harmless unlike the kind that strips human rights and degrades civil society.

'... the former Bank of Canada governor in a statement Monday night. "Every dollar raised by Canadian tariffs should be used to help support Canadian workers through this fight."'

What horseshit. Canadian capitalists are going to use all this to squash progress on labour across the board.

A screenshot of a heartfelt tribute written by Kyle MacLachlan, reflecting on his friendship with David Lynch. The text describes Lynch as an intuitive and creative individual who profoundly impacted MacLachlan's career and life, mentioning their collaborations on "Blue Velvet" and "Twin Peaks." The message honors Lynch's unique perspective on life and concludes with a personal note of gratitude and loss.

Yo, something important: abusers will defend another abusers' actions, even if they don't know them personally.

I could write a LOT on this, but it's worth noting that alone. If people don't have the reaction that you expect when you need support, then they likely aren't your people.

By day he fights for cuts to health care and pensions.

By night he’s handed cash and cheques at a party in a $17 million mansion.

Pierre Poilievre is a billionaire bootlicker.
