Happy heavenly birthday John Chaney. Almost everything I have today can be traced back to him and him giving a kid like me a chance. Born 93 years ago today.

I have great news! My iPhone 11 is now paid off!
I’m first in the neighborhood again this year!!
Good morning. I'm wishing you and the ones you love a very Merry Christmas.
And when the sun goes down I'm wishing you and the ones you love a very happy Hanukkah.
If you're missing someone today may their memory be a blessing.
But he would watch a lot of film on opponents and then lie to us. I remember prior to playing Duquesne one year he praised them to a point we thought they were top 10 with future NBA all-stars. We beat them 110-65.
Chaney story: Coach didn’t really have us watch film on opponents. It was always about us. He thought if we saw other teams turning the ball over with no consequences, throwing lob passes and leaving our feet with no plans he was afraid their style would rub off on us.
Seriously question. Why do they require basketball players to tuck in their jerseys? Is it that big a deal? Refs have more important things to pay attention to. Between the HS game I was at Saturday and college game tonight I must have seen refs tell a player to tuck it in 50 or 60 times. Stupid.
Well deserved. Long overdue. Welcome to the club

It’s really annoying how mainstream TV news shows, when doing a segment on whatever subject, use video clips of random nobodies talking about said subject on the nobodies’ TicToc or Instagram page. Who cares what they have to say about the price of gas. Put an expert on.
Bumbles bounce!
According to the 15 emails I’ve received before 8am, today is giving Tuesday.
D3 Hoops!
If the Eagles are not careful this is going to turn into a Gettysburg game (lose by four score)
During the season, John Chaney did almost nothing outside of basketball. He didn’t golf, he didn’t do radio or TV, he didn’t make appearances. 96% of his time was spent with basketball related activities. 3% buying and eating food from Philly’s famous establishments. And 1% buying high-end clothing.
Boy’s basketball final score:
George School (2-0) 64
Life Center Academy (NJ) 52
Jr. Peyton Miller 18pts, 6reb, 4st.
Sr. Luke Melniczak 12pts (5-7), 5reb.
Sr. Reece Sysko 11pts.
Fr. Ryan Melniczak 5ast, 4st.
Jr. Max Kipper 8pts, 5reb.

Yesterday and today I’ve gone with the Noah’s Arc strategy of eating. I’m taking two helpings of everything.

It’s Clementine season y’all! Here’s a couple Haiku’s I wrote:
Bright citrus sunrise,
Hidden treasures in the rind,
Joy with every slice.
Orbs of pure sunshine,
Easy peel, a sweet surprise,
Happiness in halves.
It you haven’t guessed, I really like Clementines.
Hopefully Barkley is in an ice bath somewhere. Then wrap him in bubble wrap.
Thank you Brandon Graham 🦅
3 reminders for today:
1. A Philadelphia area college goes for a National Championship today. Go St Joes field hockey! 1:30 ESPNU
2. If your turkey is in the freezer take that bitch out and transfer it to the refrigerator.
3. John Chaney did not play players that could not play defense.
Field hockey national championship game?
Happy Saturday. Another one of my favorites. This was after I scored my 1000th. I miss him everyday.
PS (even though this is black and white they DID have color photography back then).
Apparently I did something right. I may have gone three whole minutes without a turnover.
One of my favorite photos of me and Coach Chaney.
Growing up in the Philadelphia area as a kid there were 7 TV channels to choose from. 3, 6, 10, 12, 17, 29 and 48. Am I lying? I stopped on a movie recently and watched for a bit. I wondered what channel it was on. It was in the 4100s.
