I found a copy of The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave at Sound Garden a few weeks ago and rewatched it for the first time in almost 10 years(?) and I think it definitely left more of an impression on me this time than the first, maybe it was because I was really stoned I dunno

oh my god what if humans in the pokemon universe talked like pokemon do in the anime by just saying their species name like "homo homo.... SAPIENSSSsssuh!" with different inflections and subtitles underneath

"But Groovy, think of how many voice actors they'd have to hire for all those languages!" I dunno do the Monster Hunter thing and just make up a gibberish language with one voice cast for all versions, fuck even do it Banjo Kazooie style with little grunts and silly noises, I dont care

And the animations are so basic up-and-down lip movements its like your playing with sock puppets alone in silence while you're sitting in a park, why can I hear everything else but speaking? Do cutscenes in stills or heavily stylize them, this is so weird to meeeee

I think it irks me because they meticulously sound EVERYTHING ELSE - someone's shoes, their clothes swishing or jewelry jangling, the soft embers burning on your fire type - and then theres no voices during the MANY CUTSCENES THAT MUST BE WATCHED.

The reasonable presumption is Melania was trying to get in front of something, but shouldn't entirely discount the always-present possibility that these people often do random things that don't make any sense simply because they have poor impulse control and don't understand how anything works.
