Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is set to close for refurbishment starting March 10, 2025. The Disneyland Resort has not announced a reopening date, and the schedule is subject to change.

Disneyland New Year’s Eve Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks are scheduled at 9pm and midnight on 12/31. Disney California Adventure usually hosts a countdown but there’s no confirmed entertainment yet. Both parks will be open until 1am.

KFC is launching a new restaurant called Saucy this weekend in Orlando! This Raising Cane’s-style spot offers customizable meals with chicken tenders (served with a four-sauce flight), toasted Hawaiian rolls, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, crispy chicken sandwiches, and desserts.

🪞 Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a new live show debuting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2025. Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent take the stage as several other villains attempt to join their wicked fun.

🌟 Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, opens in Summer 2025. The parade features floats inspired by Peter Pan, Moana, Encanto, and Frozen.

🦜 A Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is set to open in late 2025 at Magic Kingdom.

Disney Parks announced that DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will remain open through 2025. The attraction will be re-themed to Indiana Jones afterward.

Downtown Disney has soft opened the new D-Lander shop. The boutique has “trend forward” Disney fashions including, fitting rooms, and unique artwork. The store officially opens Dec. 6. #Disneyland

Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland is still currently available as a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass selection. However, Disneyland has noted this is only a temporary offering. It will possibly remain available through the holiday season, though no official end date has been announced.

Haunted Mansion at Disneyland no longer uses a virtual queue. The standby queue has opened. The attraction is also bookable with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Disneyland will probably start selling Magic Keys again in January, as they usually do. BUT I also won’t be surprised if they don’t go on sale again then.

Destination D23 returns to Walt Disney World from Aug 29–31, 2025. The event will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Expect exclusive presentations, entertainment, behind-the-scenes stories, and shopping experiences, and announcements for Disney fans. No sales date has been announced yet.

Wicked is expected to earn $117 million in the domestic box office this weekend. That’ll place the film in third place for na opening behind Deadpool & Wolverine ($211 million) and Inside Out 2 ($151 million) this year.

Disney has also stated they are working on ways to “preserve” MuppetVision. I’ll keep you updated on closure and reopening dates as soon as they become available.

The new Monsters, Inc. land will officially replace Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. MuppetVision 3D, one of Jim Henson’s final creations, will be gone from the parks. However, there’s a silver lining: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be re-themed to the Muppets!

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice starts streaming on HBO Max December 6, exactly three months after it entered theaters.

Disney created a Haunted Mansion bar that opens next month. Guests can experience the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the upcoming Disney Treasure cruise ship.
