When I started sketching a tribute poster for "Frankenstein" I abandoned my original idea for a different approach, but I could not let it go. Maybe the idea someone pushes won’t work. Lots don’t!
But just saying “nah” and then logging off isn’t the smart hip take so many seem to think.
It’s just lazy defeatist doomerism that guarantees the worst outcome.
At this point, please either constructively contribute or be silently doomery.
I’d challenge everyone who says “sure, this is a great idea but it’ll never happen” to:
1. Stop being defeatist to yourself.
2. Stop trying to demotivate those who are pushing for a better future.
3. Better invest the time you waste saying “can’t have nice things!” thinking abt what we CAN do.

I am not complaining. In fact, I think this is a better model than demanding people grovel and confess their sins against the party or whatever.
Skill + joy at the same time is of course utterly delightful, but if I have to choose a favorite between a flawed, joyful piece of art and a technically-perfect but soulless one, I choose the joyful one every time.
True of all forms of art, actually.
I used to think that technical skill was the most important thing, but honestly? One piece of flawed art that you can tell the creator really enjoyed making is better than a million technically-perfect pieces.
Joy shines through.
