rough game for the bucks after that 4th quarter meltdown vs the nets
on the bright side: Ryan Rollins had dudes in straight jackets, paralyzed/blocked a taller/stronger ben simmons like it was nothing... didn't even jump for the block😵💫
Sarr is my ROY and he was my ROY at the start of the season, the production speaks for itself. I don't particularly value efficiency or team competitiveness for this award, just give it to Sarr if he maintains his current play all season long...
NBA *needs* to make its product easier to consume, league pass is expensive, home team games are unavailable, and now their website API is in question? Fans are putting hours into work that should be done by the league, and their reward is a cease and desist or a blacklist? FOH
Not every player's usage is the same, so one way to adjust is by benchmarking to play-type efficiency rather than overall efficiency.
Essentially, which players have the most difficult play-type usage, and how efficient are they relative to those looks?
Data is per game.
No matter where you look, you can find someone making this argument: "All NBA teams just play the exact same way."
I'm here right now to tell you: That's bullshit. And it's easy to call if you know what to watch.
where I'm at right now with my top 30
players in green/yellow tiers might flip flop between those tiers but unlikely to fall beyond 20 for me
orange/red tier could change drastically come draft day
mavs piss me off sometimes bc they be nailing game winning 3s and b2b dagger 3s... you look around and it was fkn Dinwiddie and PJ Washington😭
mavs played a perfect 4th quarter, big props to them, their defense is suffocating when they want it to be
marcus smart might have singlehandedly lost the grizzlies the game tonight
in the last ~5 minutes of play: bad foul up 5, bad turnover up 5, bad foul up 3, completely lost on defense throughout...
Trentyn Flowers was my highest ranked player (#26) to go undrafted
I really liked his combination of size, speed, athleticism, and scoring
He’s putting it together at the G-league level for the Clippers, where he’s averaging 15.1 ppg on 48% FG (10.1 FGA) & 47% 3P (2.4 3PA)
Watch him closely 👀
2025 NBA Draft Big Board: Does Cooper Flagg have competition for No. 1 spot?: Flagg remains at the head of the class, but a flashy point guard from BYU is moving up my top 100 list.
Hey, @motorcityhoops.bsky.social and I did our First Quarter of the season awards. MVP, All-NBA, DPOY, All-Defense, ROY, and plenty more!
Two hours diving deep into the best players in the league this season!
youtube.com/live/X0D9okH...
and of course, shoutout @shotcreatordata on X/twitter the site is extremely dope!
there are many more clips than what I was able to upload given bluesky's video length/file size limit, so I strongly encourage visiting shotcreatordata dot com
The 2nd & 3rd clips are especially hilarious. Insane efficiency on such an unorthodox shot.
Even the play by play tracking is confused by his shot form & distance--is it a floater or just a wonky looking jumpshot? A lot are from exactly 16 feet, is it within or outside 16 feet?🤷♂️
🏀Hopping on the shotcreatordata dot com trend!🏀
One of my guys a few years ago was T.J. Warren, particularly his NBA bubble season scoring explosion
I present to you, 40 seconds of Warren's absurd push-shot floater (of which he went 76 of 140 for the season or 54.3%!!!)
Lol so many of these possessions for Egor Demin in his game against Ole Miss, where Demin just created so many open 3s for BYU and guys unfortunately just missed. Only had 4 assists, could have been way more. Live dribble cross court skip off of that back side screen. Just an awesome player.
Honorable Mentions:
Nick Smith Jr. CHA: let's see where the mins go in that backup PG rotation
Micah Potter UTA: injury play
Jamison Battle TOR: gradey injury sub
Jae Crowder SAC: lmao i mean the mins are there?
Jabari Walker POR: centers dropping like flies, he'll put up numbers
12/01 Deep/Dynasty League Watchlist:
1. Trendon Watford (again) BKN: injury play rn & lowkey he's a solid rotation player on all 30 teams
2. KJ Simpson CHA: Ball & Mann out at least 2 weeks, posts good numbers in 15 mins
3. Ricky Council IV PHI: McCain benched, already better than Caleb Martin?
homie during board game night started doubting Green's HOFer case and calling him replaceable and i just had to get it out my bad y'all lmao
someone's opinion on draymond green as a basketball player is a good ball-knower litmus test
i'd gladly hop on my soapbox about how great he was & how important he was to the evolution of the game (& of the forward/center position)
highkey underrated & slandered
I have said for years and continue to say it - Inside The NBA and a bunch of people at ESPN did a massive amount of damage to the NBA
He's pretty light/quick on his feet which is a form of athleticism, good trait to have at that size👍
I'm willing to drop Bailey to 6 (or farther). If he works himself into at least a connective passer, that could halt the slide.
Haven't watched enough of Queen to solidify a ranking, but he's a late first round grade so far. Worried about the lack of pop/athleticism, but the skill is undeniable.
Shai with the between the legs step-back combo for 3.
Just watch Hartenstein eliminate Ellis from the play with his screen.
These guys have never played with a screener like this while in OKC.
Derik Queen had a great game for Maryland against Villanova yesterday. Let's watch some film 👇
it didn't take long before Queen started showing his fantastic ability to make reads and throw unconventional passes, with Julian Reese being the most frequent recipient
great scout work, I was lower on Pelle pre-draft compared to other late draft picks & UDFAs
something that has stuck out to me watching his film and has been important early on in his NBA minutes, he's bigger (or plays bigger) than what you'd think. Teams can't target him all that well on offense
Pelle Larsson looked great last night for the Heat with 14pts/5rebs/1ast/1stl and has looked like a rotation piece out of the draft. I went over his game prior to being drafted, especially what made him such an intriguing piece to play right away
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUVa...
Broke my own rule
Top 10 based on the prospects I've been most able to watch. Will Riley, Asa Newell, Derik Queen honorable mentions. But again, this will change dramatically come March
Range 6 through 9 seems the most fluid to me, wouldn't be shocked if any of those sharply rose or dropped
Jaylen Wells hoops career trajectory is up there with the most impressive of development stories
I try not to have 2025 NBA Draft big boards this early, bc i dont have the time to watch NCAA but also bc i will tunnel vision on players i like
that being said, been tough to keep myself from watching Philon, Demin, and Harper
absolute demons on the court
