Bend It Like Beckham sequel in the works, director tells BBC The British classic's director spoke to the BBC about the plans ahead of the Euros final on Sunday.

I appreciate I’m nearly a year late to this but what fantastic news. Maybe I’ll have finished the Own Goal sequel by then 🤡

24k of novel down...more than I thought, which is nice :) I keep wanting to change quite fundamental things but I need to ignore that and save those ideas for draft 2 🤡

Yesterday, I was suspended face down from the 75th floor of a skyscraper, and my heart rate still didn’t jump as high as it did when Jodie Whittaker asked to take a photo of one of my tattoos 🤡

What is even being argued here?
"A recent survey found that 86% of college students use Al regularly, which means that 14% are lying to survey-takers."
Is it so hard to believe that there are some people who want to think for themselves?
"There seem to be two options facing writers.
The first is not to use Al at all, or to pretend not to use it. The other is to automate their writing practice. The first is retrograde and fearful. The second forgets that art is a human practice, made by people for people."
I actually enjoy writing. Why is that 'retrograde and fearful'? In my opinion, I can write much better than ChatGPT, and I want to do it myself.
"It is worth remembering that most art has always been slop."
I don't even know where to start with this quote, so I'm just going to say you're wrong.
"Thinking, creating, understanding - these cannot be replaced, certainly not by artificial intelligence. Trust me. I've tried."
I thought you just compared mediocre writing to Al?

This person in the comments nailed it

I had to re-read several sections to try and understand the argument being made. Still not sure I fully understand what he’s on about…

Made it to holiday destination a few days ago…glorious. Have just about recovered from the first 3 months of the year and have finally opened up Scrivener ✍️ (yet to listen to Big Finish though…I couldn’t concentrate on that flight 😅)

A cozy mystery style book cover. The title is A MURDER IN LAVENDER, written in purple over a dark, looming French chateau with a moat. Yasmin Khan and a human version of the 13th Doctor stand in a field of lavender plants in front of the chateau in 1920s clothes, Yaz in a yellow dress and the Doctor in white trousers, shirt, and sweater vest. They're looking at each other with a bit of worry.

I opened up a WIP and completely baulked earlier. So! I'm being kind to myself and working on some little dribbles instead of a big project. Hopefully I can post them by the end of the weekend :)

and hopefully it gets me back into the rhythm of writing! I really need to get back into a routine
