Google Drive is now showing my files in "Suggested Files" order with no apparent way to sort them by date - and they are WAY out of order!? I can't find a document from yesterday

How did the future become so insistently stupid?

It’s clear that American movie audiences are hungry for one thing: escaping earth and hurtling into an eternal cosmic void

I love Star Trek DS9 because it’s a dour, serious show that mirrors the Holocaust for a couple seasons…

And then the Klingons show up, the supposedly violent aliens, and they get THIS PARTY STARTED!

One of the greatest twists in TV history was making Klingons party poets with the best coffee

Needed an escape so I’m rewatching Deep Space 9

You know, the one about the Federal government mediating a tense settlement between a monolithic oppressor and the locals

The one that takes place at the most important trade junction in the Galaxy

Just a nice getaway from reality…

This is so common I’ll bet Google just sells this as part of the AdWords package like it’s the Golf Channel

🔥 @rokhanna.bsky.social to Democratic leadership: “Get out. Let a new generation lead. You’ve been ineffective. The base doesn’t like you. The base wants fighters.”

JEW-ISH — Wake & Jake

For no reason here’s “Jew-ish” by Jake Cohen, which is a fantastic Jewish/Persian fusion starter cookbook (because of his Persian husband’s influence)

www.wakeandjake.com/jewish

I’ve cooked a ton of these recipes, and it introduced me to Najmiah Batmanglij (www.najmieh.com) and crispy rice

every time i write about wage theft i do a double take because it's so crazy

corporations steal more than $50 bn from workers' paychecks each year, illegally paying workers less than they earned for their labor

that significantly exceeds the combined losses from larceny, burglary, & vehicle theft

A post on X from the Department of Homeland Security that quotes the bible and shows an image of Jesus being crucified

A post on X from the Department of Homeland Security that quotes the bible and shows an image of Jesus being crucified

I had to log onto X to see if this is real, and it is

I thought we had laws and a constitution prohibiting this mixture of church and state

Mulder: Aliens are real!
Me: Oh wow, really?!
Mulder: And the government is keeping them a secret
Me: Aren’t you the government?
Mulder: They’re burying the truth!!
Me: Dude, you’re literally a GS-13

Damn it, I had a bad feeling

What comes next is he either realizes, yes, he actually cares about humanity …

Or he goes full MAGA because there’s more money up front

Retcon every Star Trek movie and just add @tignotaro.bsky.social

Doesn’t even have to include any other cast, just add aside scenes with Tig saying whatever she wants

I’d watch in the theater

Okay, I get why Colbert is so bummed that Tom Bombadil didn't appear in the movies, but there isn't enough content for a standalone film. It doesn't work

The whole point of Bombadil is that he is above and beyond the Rings story. We're just petty squabbling mortals that he notices in passing

The best thing about this quiz is being able to express my iPhone 4 HATRED by voting for the extended keyboard II instead

Me. I usually get a console after the first big price drop. That has never happened for the PS5

Nintendo usually relies on a mid-cycle feature bump or major accessory push, but that seems unlikely to succeed this time

As somebody who owned the Commodore 64 floppy drive, I totally remember my amazement at seeing the small Apple drives on the school computers. And then when 3.5” showed up? Fuggehdaboudit

The history of Apple is the history of shrinking storage media (see also: iPod, nano)

I had Calphalon Commercial nonstick pans for 20 years. I use only Dobie sponges and soft utensils on nonstick. I could cook an egg without butter until the end because I took proper care of them

No Tramontina pan has lasted me more than 2 years, and somehow that’s the top pick at numerous sites

If car reviews were written like nonstick pan reviews, they’d all say:

“Yeah I loved this Porsche but I drove it against a steel guardrail and tried to tow a tractor and I think everyone should buy cheap cars since they all just get scratched and the bumpers fall off”

I’m a paying Gemini subscriber and I asked it to do some research for a college visit tour for my kiddo this Spring

It says it is at capacity and won’t help. First time I’ve ever gotten that error from Gemini

Garlic = 2(n+1) where n=garlic in the recipe

So if a recipe says 2 cloves of garlic, I use 6 cloves, and if a recipe says 0 cloves of garlic, I only use 2 cloves
