Start off by downloading an engine, follow a tutorial or two on the UI, then, (this is my opinion) follow a TEXT tutorial on implementing something. I find that text tutorials force you to engage far more with it so you don't just copy paste. then do small projects until you feel more confident.
Nordic Game was fun as a volunteer, but it was kind of hard to network. It seems to focus a bit more on the business side perhaps.

I hate the emphasis on dynamic lights in recent times. Why dynamic when baking looks this good!!

Finally time to make some improvements to the rendering of my cozy town building game.
I just got a first version of screen space ambient occlusion working, using GT-VBAO.
I've known this for a long time, but it still amazes me how much of a difference ambient occlusion makes.
