I finally found this letter I received from Tom Lehrer in 1995. I’d written him just a fan letter in college and this was a reply. I never did use The Elements as an audition piece. If you haven’t listened yet, I highly recommend Dr. Demento’s tribute to Tom Lehrer from a few weeks ago.
