I do love that Mat's primary ta'veren qualities are "perpetually plunged into disaster by his thirst for thick women," "sexually and romantically irresistible to members of any gender but only in the ways most inconvenient to him in the present moment" and "hat."

For all my criticisms of Wheel of Time, its concept of Ta'veren was extremely cool and narratively honest. Yes, sir, these guys do in fact have plot armor. The story does in fact revolve around them. Yeah he talks to dream wolves because of Protagonist Syndrome. No the ridiculous hat isn't optional.
