I didn't know at the time, but Ilkley Moor has long been considered a 'hot spot' for such phenomena.

Standing in the centre of 'The 12 Apostles' - a stone circle on Ilkley Moor - on a sunny, cloudless day in the summer of 1982, I watched a silver disc silently traverse the sky a few hundred feet over my head.

I felt privileged & humbled by the experience.
