4 hours into vampire crawlers and it is as shallow as expected. A nice brain off time waster for sure

dumb grid thing, got bored. definitely not biased towards saga at all, nope.
beat main game of dungeon antiqua 2, time to see how messed up postgame is
yeah dungeon antiqua 2 rules. taken over crescent tower as my fav ff+wizardry inspired game
Screencap from Hira Hira Hihiru
Absolutely blindsided by Hira Hira Hihiru; what I mistook for just a Taisho-era zombie story turned out to be a heartrending allegory for dementia, now more relevant than ever in a country ill-equipped to deal with its own aging population.
as much as i want to like dungeon antiqua 1 the classic wizardry alignment system annoys me to no end. dungeon antiqua 2 doing away with it has made it much more fun for me
think i'm done with dq7r, revisiting places you've been to multiple times already to gather things (again) is not fun
36 hours into dq7r now, not sure how i feel about it. the job system is neat but even stripped down dq7 still feels like it drags on a bit. not sure if its just fatigue from revisiting places so much or something else
i finally finished my yt watch later after years of being behind on it, feels weird not always having something to watch
One of the main EN>CZ translators of KCD2 was fired and replaced by AI. old.reddit.com/r/kingdomcom...
got dragon's dogma 2 running on linux properly, forgot how good it felt to explore around
Here are Dave and David's full unedited comments for those interested:
oh that tainted grail open world game used genai too lmao. patched it out without saying anything like cowards too
My Banquet for Fools review's now live on @pcgamer.com! This is a delightfully strange and beautifully immersive RPG that really makes you believe your little party's exploring an only lightly-tamed land packed with danger and secrets:

dq7r not having individual inventories means usable items are way less useful, that sucks. gone are the days of bring along a fire claw as a backup plan
NEW THE CRAWL VIDEO: This SNES RPG Shouldn’t Exist (But I’m Glad It Does)

Cardinal Sin of Alltrades Abbey got a chuckle out of me, love dq localization
TIL Battle Engine Aquila is on steam, i always thought it was one of many neat games stuck on ps2/xbox. might have to see how the port is but i remember having a lot of fun playing it growing up
Esoteric Ebb, FREAKHUNTER, Legends of Amberland, Katamari Damacy REROLL, Banquet for Fools, Broken Reality Hypnospace Outlas, Shadowrun Trilogy, Dungeon Antiqua 1&2
picked up a bunch of stuff thanks to refunding crimson desert, should be fun
To anyone still upset there's no official international release of Dragon Quest X: Square-Enix is officially slopifying it with AI NPCs, so be thankful you didn't get invested

welp, ended up refunding crimson desert because of the gen ai shit in it. should've known a AAA game in Current Year would have that crap in it. time to go back to dq7r
ok game runs well, but lighting is omega fucked on linux and there's a weird black shimmer everywhere. hopefully gets fixed soon, or proton gets updated to fix it. want to try messing with different proton versions but denuvo will fuck me for sure
crimson desert running well out of the box on latest proton is kind of shocking, especially on older cpu/gpu hardware. makes unreal engine 5 even more of an abomination in comparison
After reading the recent Polygon article on JRPGs, I’ve spent the past two days writing a response on warped perceptions of the genre, why the future is in the free game scene, and how these discussions have hardly evolved in the nearly twenty years they’ve been staged: ogrerun.com/2026/03/17/y...
im hoping crimson desert scratches at least a small part of the dragons dogma itch, especially given dd2 runs like shit on linux because lmao
dq7 reimagined just makes me want dq9 on a more accessible platform. love the job system in that game, just wish the text rendering wasn't so wack so menus were smooth
Hi everyone. Things have been happening in the fan-translation scene and I've been overdue in talking about them. For the first time ever I've made a long writeup. Please read it and feel free to reach out to me with comments.
Hearing reports that DLSS 6 is going to make every character in every game look like a naked 14-year-old girl but don't worry, it's actually turning them all into ageless demons who have existed forever but _choose_ to look like naked 14-year-old girls.
imagining the combo of unreal engine 5 + dlss 5, bad performance in every way possible
