Isn’t it time to give up on reformism already?

Experimenting with top down, 16x16 tiles. The tile pattern on the floor is the Star of Bethlehem, a motif in traditional Palestinian embroidery (Tatreez) and art, symbolizing light, hope, and guidance.

Hell yeah! 300 is a good milestone. Now I need a good idea to submit.

I’m a day late, but I saw this Pixel Dailies challenge and decided to give it a go for the first time. Who knows, might even incorporate it into my game!

MV is probably one of the most beautifully executed isometric games out there, so that’s a huge compliment, thanks!

An earlier mockup from July. This is when I first began to seriously consider the possibility of creating a game where the player explores a post-apocalyptic, sandbox environment made of isometric blocks.

Thank you so much! Hopefully I can make it smoother by making transition animations at the start and end of the runs. And then an idle animation. :)

Oh, actually, I did flip them! So technically I guess I only fully animated 24 frames. If I decide to animate diagonal movements in the future I’ll do the same thing. In that case I’ll only have to animate two more directions, and I’ll be able to flip for the other two.

Thank you! My dream for this is to have capes that are customizable with different colors and patterns.

Correction: that’s 8 frames for 4 directions.

Run cycle test for my player sprite.

I drew each frame in Pixel Studio. With 8 frames for 8 directions, that’s a 32 piece sprite sheet, which was a lot of work. I’m debating whether I’ll eventually animate diagonal running for omnidirectional movement, but that can wait.

Sweet! I’m always happy to see pixel artists make it with their art. What does your job entail?

I’ve completed my latest 1-bit survival horror piece and given it more of a game-style HUD for some added effect. 🙂

This is a project I started back in 10/2023 and, while it took far longer than I intended to finish it, I’m really pleased with how it turned out. ☺️
