Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch smiling in a selfie with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Vercel got pwned, so here is another prompt to stop using them.

Entirely unrelated, but here is a picture of Vercel's CEO with Netanyahu, the man responsible for the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

When you smear all the people desperately raising funds from Gaza as scams, this is who you're smearing.

My input doesn’t matter! Someone or something else has already decided for me, and it’s so patronizing that every single one of them pretends that they’re giving me options.

I don’t want any AI, but I’m bombarded with it by companies everywhere. I want to vote my own values, but the party establishments’ values will not compromise with me. I don’t want the stupid YouTube premium, but they’re gonna ask me every week with a popup.

I think the thing that annoys me the most about these times is everything is telling me what I want in spite of what I actually want, and I’m not allowed to just say no.

Donate to Crips for eSIMs for Gaza (UK)

Help Palestinians in Gaza stay connected with the world!!!

Crips for eSIMS can no longer send new eSIMs due to a drop in donations. A five sponsors one eSIM for a month—and if you click "monthly," it's reliable connectivity for someone (and often their family!).

CSS or BS? Think you know CSS? Real property or made-up nonsense? 20 rounds. No mercy.

Rather than the same old boring internet pranks, I thought I'd build something more fun this April Fools.

CSS or BS. Can you tell your CSS properties names from BS?

Oh, I need to issue a correction. When I requested a user opt-out for Attie-generated feeds, I was under the impression that Attie is only generating feeds. It is extremely clear from this screenshot that the Attie client is also feeding posts into an LLM and summarizing feeds.

I want an opt-out.

Thread.

Israel passed a law allowing the death penalty exclusively for Palestinians. It was written by the fascist Ben Gvir.

Israel is institutionalising genocide.

The extents some developers will go to avoid learning CSS are mind-boggling.

Gauze was supposed to be abundant. But seven foreign doctors and aid workers who volunteered in Gaza, including four who were there after the ceasefire was meant to have taken effect, described a perverse situation in which Israel permits doctors into Gaza but not medical equipment, prompting several to smuggle vital implements of care into their personal belongings. And the reality since October is that Gaza’s remaining doctors must deal with both an influx of patients needing routine treatment and a continuing, if reduced, pace of casualties from the IDF, and do it all without crucial supplies. Doctors told WIRED the public-health crisis they witnessed looked to them more like a new phase of the genocide than its aftermath. During this phase, the Israelis no longer need to open fire to kill Palestinians, though they still do that, too.

No matter how often an algorithm showed you the ruins of Gaza, “nothing can prepare you for entering into a landscape like that,” says Elise Thorburn, a Canadian ER doctor who arrived two weeks into the supposed ceasefire. What she saw as she took the coastal al-Rashid Road north did not “resemble a human habitat in any way.” Silence from the collapsed buildings and shattered roads gave way to masses of displaced people living in plastic tents or the remains of structurally unsound buildings. “Not one building,” Thorburn says, “is unaffected.” Concrete dust, suspended in the air from the estimated 68 million tons of debris, makes it feel “hazy all the time,” she adds.

Ahmed paid attention with alarm to what Gazans breathe in. Her experience treating patients with COPD from the World Trade Center leads her to forecast that the effects of the genocide will remain in the lungs of its survivors for decades.

What you’ve seen on your phone cannot prepare you for the nightmarish reality.

The Ghosts of Al-Shifa Hospital Months into a supposed ceasefire in Gaza, doctors still have to smuggle in basic medical supplies—and treat new casualties of war.

I’ve been a journalist for 27 years. I’ve reported major stories about mass surveillance, torture, war, the military-industrial complex, police black sites, etc.

But this is the most important story I’ve ever had the horror/honor to work on. For it is a story about the current phase of a genocide.

I'm assuming they're using some form of geo-blocking to prevent bots from scraping their content. I *understand* why they're doing this, but it sucks because they end up excluding people (mainly those who live outside the US/EU) in that process :/

one side effect of the enshittification of things is that I'm now getting automatically blocked by ~40% of the websites I visit and I often have to use a VPN to bypass these restrictions

It is *fascinating* to me how quickly some people have gone completely from “we all must work in the office! human collaboration is vital and only happens in person!” to “I can replace all these pesky people with chatbots!” Definitely some commentary there about our society and who gets to choose.

On this International Women’s Day, I cannot stop thinking about all the girls in Iran, in Sudan, in Gaza, and so may places — girls whose lives were snuffed out in conflicts they played no part in, before they could ever become women.

And I am thinking about their mothers.

GRAM Gram is an open source code editor with built-in support for many popular languages. Gram is an opinionated fork of the Zed code editor.

I was thinking about trying Zed again, but perhaps I will try this first.

It's an opinionated fork, and I like the opinions.
