happy 18th birthday to my best friend!! (that's 88 in human years!) i love you so much 😻😻
they say procrastination is the thief of time, but it's obviously cats
we have the power of the sun; we have the power of the wind; we have the power of the currents; we have the power of the planet's heat. our global economy is breaking and people are dying in needless wars bc people still insist on using fossil fuels, literally the energy of death
Pentagon; or Pentagram?
just imagine if there were . . . alternatives to fossil fuels
Donald Trump’s deranged threat to destroy “a whole civilization” in Iran is a threat to commit war crimes and genocide. Republicans in Congress must prevail upon VP Vance, now campaigning for Putin’s puppet Viktor Orban in Hungary, to return to the U.S. and invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment.
It is very easy to become accustomed to Trump’s ravings, and laugh them off. That’s a dangerous thing to do.
When Trump states: “A whole civilization will die tonight,” he is threatening to commit genocide.
We can’t allow that to happen. Congress must end this war NOW.
gorgeous first couple episodes of Witch Hat Atelier
Trump promised to go after the "worst of the worst."
His ICE agents just arrested the wife of an Army staff sergeant who has lived here since she was a toddler.
This military family was preparing for a loved one’s deployment — and Trump ripped them apart anyway.
Shameful.
so relieved for the family of the rescued pilot
but for the relief of all families, American and Iranian, we need this unjust war to end now
here's a link to Art of Adolescence, which is nominated in the "Romance" category. folks can watch all the videos and vote here: forms.gle/McTTfGS1q5Y7...
spent a chunk of the day watching all the finalists for the AMV Voters Choice Awards. it's so inspiring seeing everyone's talent. Mariposa, below, was my vote for best video; but honorable mention to Art of Adolescence by @seasaltmemories.bsky.social, which i saw at Otakon last summer and just love
that may be. but i'm thinking it's more a relic of the fact that we had a military draft for so long in this country, so that service was enforced as an aspect of civic duty, rather than an exercise of personal choice. even now, the military for many is a job of last resort rather than of preference
i feel there's a difference between military servicepeople and ICE/police goons, insofar as the actions of the former are generally less culpable than those of the latter, even when they're prosecuting an unjust war. but i'm struggling to articulate why. can you or your commentators educate me?
Have you cast your votes for the AMV Viewers' Choice Awards yet? Vote for the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 winner and all the other categories here! forms.gle/McTTfGS1q5Y7... Deadline: April 6th #AMVAwards
my heart breaks for the fans at the nine shows in all of human history where they encored with Farmhouse -- especially for those at the last one, at Sphere, with its gorgeous, tear-inducing visuals. i pray you all get Alaska at every show to cleanse your palate of this egregious indignity
ok who is the Sailor Moon funny person nerd that brought Artemis to Artemis II
the best review i've seen yet for capturing the political immediacy of Springsteen's March 31 show in Minneapolis, and its urgent call for us all to realize the best of human dignity and decency #RiseUp
RISE UP!!!!!
can't stop thinking about My City of Ruins at last night's Springsteen show: quite possibly the peak concert experience of my entire life
I think Springsteen tonight is in my top four concerts all time.
I’ve seen a decent number of Springsteen concerts since my first in ‘84, but holy fucking shit this show tonight…
I saw Bruce Springsteen for the first time tonight. I was not prepared to cry that much in public.
tonight's Springsteen show was straight fire, especially Streets of Minneapolis, American Skin, and My City of Ruins. perfect birthday; now i'm ready to grow young again
celebrating my birthday in Minneapolis yay
the pillows "I think I can" was the first karaoke song i ever sang in Japanese in front of strangers: very out of character for me insofar as i'm (a) terminally shy/reserved and (b) a bobcat?
just saw Shinichiro Sato of the pillows died. like many, the pillows were my gateway to J-rock, esp through the music to FLCL. indeed, nothing feels more iconic of my youth than the scene in FLCL w Mamimi smoking the NEVER KNOWS BEST cigarette as the pillows' Bran New Lovesong begins.
rest in peace
