We had a fab day at one of our bat reserves in Wales, which is home to around 500 lesser horseshoe bats. With the help of our fantastic #volunteers, we carried out maintenance tasks, pruned fruit trees and planted 24 new trees to provide more cover and bring in insects for the bats to feed on!
We’re having a great time at this year’s Mammal Society Conference presenting a poster on VWT’s most recent #NationalPolecatSurvey. We will be analysing all the data from the survey and publishing a final report later this year. Watch this space. @mammalsociety.bsky.social

One of #MartensOnTheMove volunteers had a lovely surprise on Christmas Day when they recorded a pine marten visiting their feeder in our Brechfa Monitoring Hub. The feeder was put up in November and this is the first time the volunteer has recorded a marten! #NationalLotteryHeritageFund
