On my way with many low cost items to rehome. You should negotiate hard because I need space more than I need money.

Wow, this was really nine years ago?

I have actually wondered how much a basic 100 kW DC rapid charger costs? Just a payment terminal, a current clamp, some big ass transistors and a water cooler (the cable is usually liquid cooled, which is why it feels like a petrol hose).
But as a Brit, I expect Brown, Blue, Green or maybe Red, Black, Green if it’s really old. I’ve never seen anything else, especially in that plug.
What is even happening with those wire colours?!?
Why is it called Thumb mode?
Google Maps keeps directing me to walk on a highway in Germany, where I’m pretty sure walking is not allowed (there’s certainly no pedestrian walkway along it).
I see your Panic! At the Disco and raise you Confusion! At the Rail and Fresh.
For some of you this makes no sense and for some of you it makes perfect sense and I suspect there’s no middle ground.
Love to find my flight is delayed after I drop my bags and go through security.
2 years ago I did a PoC to run #rust 🦀 in the #pixel modem
Today it shipped in millions of devices!
They grow up to fast! 🥲

Happy New Financial Year.
It was windy, so Octopus were giving me 11p/kWh at lunch time yesterday. I got paid £3.85 to top my car up and few quid more for lunch and all the tumble dryer loads we did.
I have paid as high as +55p/kWh though, when the grid needs the gas power stations online and they set the price. That hurts.
I teach it at Ferrous Systems, so I think it’s fine. Our slides and exercises are free online and we run four open online training courses a year.
I’d rather learn Rust than waste much more time debugging C.
We could argue about whether using U-Boot is cheating, but this chip (OMAP4) boots with a very small internal SRAM and a fairly basic ROM that can copy code to SRAM from various places. Someone then has to configure the SDRAM controller, and I don’t want to do that - so I let U-Boot do it for me.
Got my PandaBoard to print to the console from bare-metal Rust, loaded with U-Boot over UART.
This is my first example of bare-metal Rust running on real Cortex-A hardware, rather than QEMU (but others have done it before me, so nothing groundbreaking here).
Cracked out mine today for the first time in forever - fixing a headlamp adjuster for a Vauxhall Zafira, of all things.
My brain won’t let go of the phrase “organ döner”, if you’re wondering how my day is going.
I took the German or Autistic diagnostic. Results: 60% Autistic, 36% German, and 100% upset that they do not add up to 100%.

The High Life: The Musical got five stars in The Guardian. It sounds wonderful.
I can still (sort of) remember the theme tune to the show, despite not having heard it since what… a Friday night on BBC2 back in 1995?
I want a "The Snack Zone" T-shirt. Do they sell those? They should sell those.
Oooh, very cool.
The BBC Master has dual-format (DFS + CP/M, and ADFS + FAT12) format floppy disks, and I always wondered how they worked. Now I sort of know, and I wrote about it.

A colourful box that says: New blog post! Callgraph Analysis Writing custom lints for fun and profit! Compiler team lead Jynn Nelson dives into the world of static analysis and callgraphs by showing how Ferrocene ensures that only the most strictly tested code is used in safety-critical applications. Thank you for reading and following us on BlueSky.
Some fun compiler-adjacent #RustLang reading: How can you make sure [panic!] is unreachable in part of your program? This write-up goes into how we approached callgraph analysis in #Ferrocene – and how you can try it out for yourself!

On 2 April Humanists UK celebrates World Autism Acceptance Day
Happy #WorldAutismAcceptanceDay, everyone!
It's a time to raise awareness of the unique strengths and perspectives of people on the autism spectrum, to raise awareness of the issues autistic people face, and to promote understanding to create a more inclusive society.
right now the astronauts are calling houston because the computer on the spaceship is running two instances of microsoft outlook and they can't figure out why. nasa is about to remote into the computer
ok I will make an exception to my dislike of April Fools this one time 🤭
