Council Chair Mendelson says the council wants to find a “constructive solution” in terms of safely dealing with large gatherings of teens. He says he was prepared to vote to extend the enhanced youth curfew rules, but the required two-thirds support on the council wasn't there.
Council Chair Mendelson says he is in line with the mayor in being frustrated with CFO Glen Lee for his role in delaying the budget.
“The CFO’s role is to count numbers and make sure the budget is balanced... it is not to make policy.”
D.C. Council Chair Phil Mendelson admits to “misusing government resources” when he printed 400-plus pages for his re-election campaign at his council office. Using his council office for campaign purposes is considered an ethics violation.
“I was under time pressure and just not acting properly.”
