The only legitimate use of facial recognition cameras is for old people watching TV:
"He's the one from that film."
"No, you're thinking of whatsisname. But the woman is in that other thing."
"The one we don't watch?"
"No, she's younger and this one's blonde."
"She's had work done."
"David someone."

"Raising the flag and singing the anthem are, while somewhat suspicious, not in themselves acts of treason."
Vimes would be very much appreciated right now.
Or maybe they were French ones where the paint already did run.
How about an insurrection to get the files released, guys?
He even looks like he's taking the piss out of us. Not that I'm young, mind, but who's got spare income to invest these days?

West Wing holds up in the comedy and some of the ethical discussions but BOY if anyone over 35 needs to explain to their kids just how progressive you are, show them a couple episodes so they can see what qualified as liberal in the late 90s.
I was checking online to see if there's a smaller heron native to Ireland but couldn't find one. Egrets too. You can't see in the pic but I could just about make out it's scruffy juvenile feathers on top.
Interesting to match up names with surviving local shop signs too.
Going to tell the grandchildren this was The Mandalorian and Grogu.
The kind of AI that techbros and governments are pushing is not the internet, or cell phones, or personal computers, or heavier than air flying machines, or the wheel.
It's the digital equivalent of asbestos, plastics, teflon, and lead.

Back to the simple natural order of things…….. not human arrogance based on destruction of our water, air, environment for profit…… for the 1%
This photo is so beautifully lit that it looks like a still from a movie. This is the Southern Pacific’s Sunset Limited awaiting departure from LA bound for New Orleans. The train was all Pullman train (ie a hotel on wheels) which was good because it took 41 hours to complete.
New heron at Heuston Bridge this morning. Often see one but I had to look closely this time as it's a young'un and all grey. Reckon it must be called Seán.

Here it is, my annual reminder: don't spray spring dandelions with roundup.
One flower can be visited by 100+ bees in a day, and your chemicals will kill all of them. 🌻
In a nutshell. 😊
For those keeping track at home. The Iranians have now blockaded the Strait of Hormuz in response to the US blockading it because the Iranians had blockaded it, in response to the US attacking Iran to ensure that the Strait which was fully open at the time wasn't blockaded.
No such thing as unskilled labour. Respect everyone's grind.
Keep saying it, "There's no such thing as unskilled labour". All jobs take skills to master. Particularly those essential worker jobs that were so important during Covid and yet pay so badly. Show them respect.
Such a misused concept these days. I find myself compelled to correct, "not fittest as in strongest, it's fittest as in it fits".
As in, if you already understood the quote then you probably haven't voted for the Face-Eating Leopard Party.
They're just very close friends.
Oh man, I would love to see a whole flock of these. I wonder if you could play bowling with them by throwing feed...?

Vibrant street art in Limerick, Ireland. A standard street bollard is painted as a bright blue octopus head, with its tentacles sprawled playfully across the pavement for a local scavenger hunt.

He shouldn't have needed to be "informed". 1) It's fkin obvious. 2) he should have asked.
