Scientists invented a fake disease. AI told people it was real Bixonimania doesn’t exist except in a clutch of obviously bogus academic papers. So why did AI chatbots warn people about this fictional illness?

This confirms all my doubts about the robustness of AI and its potential to believe its own lies.

We get the occasional one on our peanut feeders when they don’t have a red squirrel wrapped round them.

I was just thinking about primulas as while joining warp threads on the power loom with leftover bits of yarn or thrums
“Thrums The thread that is left at the end of the warp after weaving as far as possible. If I can find a good use for these “leftover” threads, I may start saving some of them.”

Latest project off the loom. The warp is split between a rep-weave section and a tabby weave one. Probably both will be sown up into bags.

Finally managed to work out how to spend my retirement more productively. I’m volunteering at the the local heritage Jute Mill (Verdant Works) and hobby weaving at home. Fulfilling 200 years of family textile heritage.
