I Found It: The Best Free Restaurant Bread in America Thirteen thousand miles. Infinite contenders. One beautiful loaf.

caity weaver is the only living writer where i want to get a little too high before reading everything she writes, like she’s a pink floyd record or an italian horror movie.

audrey gelman complaining about the wisconsin dells is so specifically infuriating. @plrock.bsky.social compared it to hearing people talk about action park without having alpine slide scars and i have never felt so seen

The Casino was the brain child of restaurateur Sidney Solomon, front man for a cabal of socialites and Tammany officials who felt the need, as Walker euphemistically put it, of a sanctuary in which they might “entertain visitors without being molested’” He asked the Mayor to let him establish one on the Casino, a low, rambling brick-and-stone building that had been built
in the park in 1864 ad a “Ladies Refreshment Salon” and had since been turned into a quiet little night club.

I think it’s time for a total and complete shutdown of men entering politics until we can figure out what is going on.

The real issue is that police shouldn't jump to be trigger/arrest-happy. Creating lists/designations of acceptable disabled people to leave alone doesn't fix that problem + civil liberty concerns of what governments will do with said lists.

What if we didn't have to bare our souls to get you to listen.

What if survivors didn't have to peel back their own scars to show you the wounds.

What if men knew women to be as human as they are and did not perpetuate or ignore our dehumanization.

What if this didn't have to happen.

This story is horrific. Worth noting that Target is not the only retailer using AI for theft prevention. It’s an entire industry. And if you’re looking for alternatives that are safer to shop at in this regard, you’re very likely out of luck. Small, non-corporate businesses probably your best bet.

DUDE. I have zero interest in a dialogue with a strange man explaining to me how I’m wrong about sexual assault. I’m not interested in educating you. If you want to know my perspective, you can read it quietly.

i made the classic bluesky mistake of getting mad on a long car ride and replying instead of blocking and i’m now committed to doubling down until i’m home in my own bed. 🤷‍♀️

We are not advocating for the same movement.

Like many women, I’ve experienced both, so the work i’ve did to protect legislative staffers in Albany made clear that sexual harassment and sexual assault are all part of the same misogynistic system and can’t be disentangled.

Quick note to all the dudes who’ve decided to reply guy about the difference between sexual assault and sexual harassment:

Don’t. Shut the fuck up.

Imagine all the qualified women who never ran because they were driven out of politics by the male abusers we chose to protect instead.

since it looks like it's getting relitigated yet again: Al Franken constituent here, glad he resigned, his behavior was foul, his replacement was fantastic, if you're defending him you're fortifying a stupid hill in the wrong battle

oh for fuck's sake, al franken sexually harassed *multiple* women, we all saw pictures of it, he resigned before availing himself of any due process, and he was replaced by a great progressive woman. literally, we lost nothing when al franken left the senate.

"Pressed on whether he takes Trump at his word that he will end 'a whole civilization' (as that is what he wrote in his post), Lawler continued to defer. 'He is talking about the energy and civilian infrastructure,' he claimed."

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist

I've heard this thing of "AI use is growing more widespread and we're just going to have to live with it" in a number of different areas lately and...is it? It seems like all of the AI companies are very worried about a failure of broad adoption, and I've seen no evidence to the contrary.
