How can we have artificial intelligence when we don't have regular intelligence?

"Age verification" laws are actually "upload your ID or get your face scanned to access every website, ending anonymity and associating your identity with everything you do online" laws and if more people understood that they would not be down for this authoritarian nonsense

Are you going to tell a blind person who reads books in braille that they aren't reading?

You are taking in the same information different ways. And that's ok! It should be encouraged! It's no different than listening to a radio news show vs watching one. 4/?

It gives folks the full access to a world you enjoy too, so why is that a problem for you? It shouldn't be!

Yes, reading with your eyes is a skill you should learn in school, absolutely. But again, accessibility is important here. 3/?

The ability to store the 15 hours of audio has gotten so much cheaper in the digital age. You are still getting the entire story when you listen to audiobooks.

Now let's talk about accessibility. Audiobooks are amazing for people with dyslexia and other reading or learning disabilities. 2/?

Audiobooks are reading. Period. End of. Authors and publishers rarely put out abridged audiobooks anymore. #reading 🧵
