All I want for Christmas is the abolition of the imperialist white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy
I used to post this every year on Facebook but I've been away for almost a year now. It took me longer than I'd care to admit to give up searching the web so I had to log in again to get it. I don't miss it. Anyway, hope you enjoy my seasonal offering ... 🎄

I don’t agree because not all societies through history have been as hierarchical and competitive as ours. In fact most have not. Schooling - not to be conflated with education - is a relatively new and I suspect short-lived failed experiment. Children can and usually do learn as part of society.

Open Letter “An Urgent Call to the Heads of Academia in Israel” by the “Black Flag" Action Group
Open letter by Israeli academics.
“This is a horrifying litany of war crimes and even crimes against humanity, all of our own doing. … It is human societies, not governments alone, that commit crimes against humanity. … We cannot claim that we did not know. We have been silent for too long.”

I understand your reluctance and don’t use the term lightly. I think you’re in a country that looks after its vulnerable better than here in the UK, where life expectancy and socioeconomic factors are linked to the point where I don’t think it’s exaggeration.

Schooling is hidden eugenics, plain and simple, especially when combined with the removal of social safety nets. I say this as a teacher and education expert. If we want a freer and fairer world with a habitable climate we must abolish it.

Standardised testing plus removal of social safety nets is a eugenics project. School is driving authoritarianism and making people think it is both necessary and inevitable.

That’s what I was thinking. Telling everyone to vote Labour instead of Green and now sticking your nose into the business of Greens like you weren’t detracting from the real left at the election, and like the Overton window doesn’t exist. Stings a bit tbh.

Ha! If you want to know why the courts aren’t delivering justice in any meaningful way, you have to look at judges. The courts are cesspits of unexamined privilege.

The last year and a half in Gaza is a strong enough reason to dismantle the entire US-led western empire. The Gaza holocaust could end tomorrow and it would still be reason enough. All the empire's other worldwide abuses could have never happened and it'd still be reason enough.

Also though, @carladenyer.bsky.social is a really, genuinely good egg and if anyone can have a positive impact on this utterly broken system it’s her.

I prefer to use my energy to build new systems but the Green Party are the least worst option within the current one. They are never going to be able to achieve anything, no party can, because the vested interests are too strong. They *might* have a part to play in hospicing that system though.

Schooling is a governance issue because that’s where we come to understand our culture. For most of us that’s where we learn that authoritarianism is the only possible “natural” way of organising and that people must be controlled for anything worthwhile to happen.
