Just finished listening, seriously thank you on behalf of the whole band for the kind words and Album of the Month commendation! We had a ton of fun putting this release together and it’s really heartening to see our particular brand of VGM weirdness making a positive impact on others. 💚

It’s been a while but I have not forgotten! Was doing it as a live project for some time but other obligations took priority. I’ll admit it’s a challenge running a solo act compared to being in bands, but I’ve got a lot of material for Flamingo Moon and would like to properly release it all someday
Thanks so much! I’m really glad to have friends who still appreciate this all these years later.
Every December I can’t help but think about follow-ups. 🦩🌙 was intended to be an originals only project at first but I sure do love me some X-mas music.
Anyway, Happy Holidays, hope you’re doing well!

Now that the video length limit is higher here, I think I’m gonna be resharing a lot of them memes
Likewise! You were shredding up there man. Hopefully we can be at some of the same events in the future and have more time to hang out and talk
That first pic is supposed to be a gif! Hopefully this works...
A lot about the world is shitty, which is part of why my life's purpose is centered around entertainment and escapism. The impact we make on people—no matter how small or indrect—is really important. So while it can be hard to adequately cherish what you have, experiences like this remind me to try.
I'm glad we decided to arrive a day early and leave a day late. I encountered so many familiar faces of wonderful people (some I hadn't seen in 5-10 years), made new acquaintances, and unexpectedly discovered a kindred spirit in an old friend through long and meaningful late-night conversations.
More than 50 scheduled performances on four stages over the course of the weekend (plus constant jams all over the hotel) meant there was no hope of me catching all of the sets I wanted to, especially with my own responsibilites and stupid biological need to eat. Those that I did see were excellent.
None of this would have been possible without @darmock.bsky.social, @wedgetable.bsky.social, Kevin Spencer, Roland Laracuente, @sean081799.bsky.social, and Kev Ragone, who generously lended us their instruments, as well as Austin Colden and the diligent sound team. Thanks so much!

I was also touched by the attendance and response to The Tonberries. Our “boograss” style is pretty niche even within the world of VGM, but the audience had fun and we were getting compliments all weekend. Guess it's time to finish that album!

Next, my sincerest gratitude to the extended KDB fam who made our set an unforgettable one: @laurentheflute.bsky.social 🪈, @stemage.bsky.social 🎸, @roninopf.bsky.social 🎻, @angrypolarbear.bsky.social 🎹, and Joe Newman 🎷

First, I want to thank my bandmates in @kirbysdreamband.bsky.social and The Tonberries. These projects have been a major part of my life for a long time, and it's a privelege to make music together. I love you all.

Reflecting on @vgmcon.bsky.social, now that I've been home almost a week—despite some personal/logistical difficulties, this was overall one of the most positive experiences I've had in a long time. It was a joy to reconnect with rarely-seen faraway friends, and perform in multiple sets. A thread...
A friend of mine and I—who haven't played in any campaigns together—keep sending like 500-1500 word info dumps about our different D&D characters to each other lately and I'm totally here for it
Dungeons/Shadows/Fate of Drakkenheim are less overtly comedic campaigns by comparison (though still often balance the horror fantasy with humor), but I love the world, characters, and narrative they created. Dungeon Dudes videos were a big part of why I got into D&D, so yes, I highly recommend them!
Haven’t had a chance to check out Dimension 20 or Not Another D&D Podcast yet, but I assume both characters are reckless/endearing doofuses (doofii?)
Drakkenheim and HarmonQuest are the actual plays I’m most familiar with. I did start Once Upon A Witchlight recently though and am really enjoying it
I’m photoshopping my friends and I into television scenes again
That one is so fun to play! I’m gonna try and encourage the group to do it at VGM CON next month
My band put out a new album on Friday. I played keys and did some of the arrangements. There’s a bunch of underappreciated Kirby songs in here, so if you need a little pick-me-up, give it a listen!
100 SHOWS! 100 HATS! 100 YEARS OF KIRBY!
This is gonna be a big one. Former band members returning, songs we've never played live before, performances from our friends Plexusplay and @dannybstyle.bsky.social...next month at The Template!

These are so Kirby I love them ⭐️
I was already going to ask if you wanted to play something with KDB at VGM CON but now I’m encouraging this to be part of your wardrobe if so!
I shared illustrations of my current D&D characters here a few weeks ago, but the thumbnails were weirdly cropped and buried in a larger thread. Even if I'm self-conscious about drawing, I 💛 my wizard and monk, so here they are again together...

Hahaha yessss I need to figure out a way to make this happen
And this is only like 85% of the hats @cece-ennui.bsky.social has made for KDB so far
WHY?! 🌧️
@cece-ennui.bsky.social’s new book came out today!
