My score is so devastatingly low I won't even post it. I've lived out here over a decade and *still* haven't ever seen orcas beyond maybe a 30-second glimpse through binoculars I'm still not convinced I didn't hallucinate. Not even an actual whale watching tour gave me orcas! 😭😭😭

And even ^*that* critique doesn't get into, white society has spent centuries destroying Black community and family life, and continues to threaten to take their children away? Fuck that noise.

Which is all to say, plenty to clapback with that doesn't continue to police/medicalize folks

...might just be me but there's a sinister element under this particular clapback in juxtaposition with both the long history of overmedicalizing and overmedicating Black people- think, so-called schizophrenia dxes- as well as the use of medication as behavioral modification in place of therapy

But that doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist, or that liberals/progressives should let the right have that line while they only clapback with, "well ~actually~ Black children are undiagnosed and undermedicated/treated."

What angers me about RFK's comments re "reparenting" Black kids is,

Yes, there absolutely are subpopulations of Black (and brown) children who are inappropriately dxed and overmedicated. They're in foster care (or are adoptees), they're in juvenile detention or otherwise institutionalized.
