Clamoring for = asking for. But nobody in the blurb you posted is asking for regulation. You mean to say that the blurb shows a society “in need of” regulation.

I literally just Googled “what” the other day. (I hit the return key too early, but honestly, the question as posed really captured my mood.)

Make the “V” in TDOV mean whatever you want it to mean!

Happy TDOV! My life has been hugely enriched by having friends across the gender spectrum, and in a sense I think transphobes are punishing themselves by insisting on leading a life that is smaller, poorer, and meaner than it needs to be. However in another sense more vengeance is needed

Trans friends, thank you for being you, and for, when you can, sharing yourselves with a world that is so frequently undeserving of the light you bring to it. I love and support you, always. 🏳️‍⚧️🫂🫶

The danger is not still present, in our time. Probably.

I absolutely imprinted on every part of this movie. It is “my” canonic Romeo and Juliet. Pete Postlethwaite as the Hawaiian-shirt-wearing priest, Harold Perrineau as Mercutio, John Leguizamo as Tybalt, everyone and everything in this movie was perfect. 😍

Busted down a killer muffuletta on the way to be fitted for a dress. My sister is aghast. I’m of the opinion that if the dress doesn’t fit after a sandwich, then the dress *did not fit*.

I’m so happy to be old.

It’s very simple. Small screen=small brain. If I need to get out my big brain (which I do, for making travel plans), I get out the big screen. Guaranteed to make mistakes if you try to do a big brain job on a small screen.

We need more shows like this one where the detectives are actually quite bad at what they do, though that point takes a while to dawn on the viewer. Can’t wait to watch season 2.

But why did this post just give a fullblown flashback to the smell of my Mom’s purse, when I was a child? Leather, Velamints, the metallic whiff of keys and coins.

Came out of the post office, saw that a guy had cut my saddle bag off my bike and was about to take off with it. I yelled "Please wait my cat's medicine is in there!" He started to run, and this grandma-age lady goes "SHE SAID HER CAT'S MEDICINE IS IN THERE" and WALLOPED him with her grocery bag.

#WorldPoetryDay | Pavel Friedman (Jewish Czechoslovak poet born in 1921) wrote a poem „Butterfly” in the #Theresienstadt Ghetto in June 1942. On 29 September 1944 Friedman was deported to #Auschwitz where he was murdered.

WHAT?!

You had young children at the time. You said that your son (maybe the younger one?) had told you, “I love you in the point of my heart.” I have cherished (and often said aloud!) that phrase many times since then. ❤️

Hi Prof. Blum, I just saw that you’re on Bluesky. I took your journalism class at UW-Madison, about 25 years ago now. I also have read and loved your books. Hope you are well. I wanted to let you know that you said something one day in class and I have carried it with me this whole time. 1/?

Yeah, but Hegseth isn’t at DOJ or FCC. He has no role in media M&A approval or conditions. You asked if he just committed a major federal crime by saying he wants more favorable press coverage and can’t wait until CNN gets new leadership. He didn’t commit such a crime or conspire to do so. 🤷

CNN is not a public forum, and its reporters don’t have a 1A right to airtime. CNN can get more conservative with its new ownership, just as Fox did. That’s its right. There’s no conspiracy here; you just don’t like it.

You are wrong, so I will take you up on that invitation. Conspiracy with whom? To violate what rights? Can a network not decide become more like Fox News? Or are you saying Hegseth’s statement is an actionable threat to other networks? It’s not.

I paid money for a book that I thought would be a lark, only to find it insulting me (and people like me) multiple times. You should be ashamed of yourself. Bet I’ll just catch a block for calling it out, though.

Do you remember when you wrote not once but twice in your book about Scrabble that you were embarrassed when “blue-hairs” beat you? Elderly women, your obvious inferiors! Amazing that they could even spell words, much less do it better than you, a far superior intellect given your gender and age!! 🖕🏻

Same. I literally used a typewriter at the library to fill out the applications that triggered my last few “we were hacked LOL 😝” notifications. Who digitized this application, when, why, and why was it saved for 25 years?
