What I don't understand is how books get banned for "problematic themes," yet most streaming services & virtually all social platforms are full of problematic content. The only difference is when reading, there tends to be greater nuance in how its processed. idk

Sometimes, you just want to talk about trees in your poetry.
This guy in Sperlonga insisted on taking a photo with us. Who is he, we don't know. He wanted to take us for coffee afterwards.
I would think the capital city would be better. But, my wife and I have felt more welcomed in the tiny towns.
The microaggressions in the U.S. were a nuisance. But, the abject racism here (Rome) is often surprising and hurtful.
I wasn't prepared.
People fear what they don't understand. Then they hate what they fear.
